surely its a case of the android users needing to learn that people have a choice, so accept it :P

though common sense should apply os specific question into the apple thread, phone type question mobiles
 
Given the friction between iphone owners and anyone who suggests that there are other alternatives, or that the iphone isn't the best thing since sliced bread, I voted for the apple forum.

sounds good to me, let the poster choose which of the 2 it should go in. after a while people will generally head to one of the forums the majority of the time

yes. laptop section is not in the Windows part of the forums.

if the mods are concerned about segregation and flame wars between platforms then maybe the segregation should not exist. it breeds comments like 'Would prefer the Apple folk stick to their own little safe haven'
 
I really dont see the need in splitting the forum as there isnt a huge amount of posting traffic for each phone / os.

I think its nice the appleites get to mingle. Probably does them good.
 
I voted Mobile phone - but it will make them cry because they won't feel like they're real Apple owners anymore. They will have to hang out with us normal smartphone peasants.

I vote we keep them seperate to avoid constant posts like this. Because of course, every other Smartphone isn't 'much more than just a phone', right?

I think this is the best solution. Let the normal people with iPhones post in the mobile section but still allow the Apple fans their own 'safe' area. It's a bit messy but I think it's the only way to keep everyone happy.

If it has to be one or the other then it should 100% be in mobile phones.
 
mobile phones:

the iphone is a mobile phone and it is not sufficiently advanced from the competition to be regarded as its own micro-category of item.

throw it to the dogs!
 
It isn't broken so why bother fixing it? That's my outlook anyway, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the way it is at the moment. You could just let the poster decide where to publish their thread.

I think the issue is that any iPhone posts get rapidly shifted to the Apple part of the forum.
