No, I'd be playing with Krono despite him being crap.
 

In case anyone like me just wanted to know the scores in case they spoil any single player in the video review, the scores were:

Story: 8.6
Design: 9.6
Gameplay: 9.6
Presentation: 9.7
Overall: 9.5

I would have purchased it, but my bank account got hacked and HSBC have disabled it pending fraud investigations so I'm currently broke :(
I have a trial key you can have mate, although let me know if you still need one, dunno if anyone will have sent you one in the last hour.
 
What are these 'Guest Passes' I keep hearing about?

People who buy the game get a couple of "cards", these cards have a key on them which is a key you can give to people which lasts 7 hours and allows your mates to try the game out for that time (according to the card it's 7 hours worth of game time).

Finally got my downloaded client set up and guest pass added. Got to say its bwilliant from what I've seen so far. Was a bit worried that 35 quid would be a bit steep but I've already decided I'm going to pick it up soon.

Been loving the single player and after watching a number of vids cant wait to play multiplayer. If anyone wants to tutor a complete noob at the multiplayer, all help is appreciated.
 
just finished the campaign last night, was really good, much better than the first one. infact probably the best campaign i have played in RTS for ages, maybe even better than COH! but yeah, anyone know when the expansions 'heart of the swarm' and 'legacy of the void' are due out? do blizzard have any concrete plans for these? hell are they even in development yet? :confused:
 
the only problem for me with MP and skirmish is how 'average' it feels compared to the campaign, since you get to research things like psi-disruptors and such in the campaign and those extinguisher systems that stop terran buildings from burning down, also improvements to your units as well old school units like firebats, wraiths, etc. someone needs to find a way to mod the game to add these things to the skirmish and MP arena, would improve things immensely!

I'm sure there will be. The limiting factor right now is the god awful custom game lobby/searching system. Blizzard have said they're going to change and when they do I'm sure lots of awesome UMS maps will appear. But for the ladder, everything has to be balanced so you can understand why they left out a lot of units from the single player.

They have medivacs.
 
I found that too. Played the first few single player missions then went for multiiplayer and was sitting there staring at my barracks trying to find out why I couldn't get firebats and medics :)

I'm considering buying this game. I've never played the original Starcraft. In face the only strategy game I've played is Warcraft 3. Well that and a few early Amiga games if I remember correctly.

Is this game noob friendly?

It's the campaign I'm interested in more than the Multiplayer.....for now.
 
yeah granted the balance is excellent as always but the protoss get some old units in the campaign as well, like scouts. but still it would be nice to have the option to use some of the older units, something i miss loads is the valkyrie frigate from brood war, those area damage missiles were great against massed air units. on the other hand firebats dont fit in bunkers, niether to marauders and ghosts for some reason take up two slots even though they are physically smaller than marines? its understandable that firebats dont since they are like walking tanks, but ghost? someone should add some sort of research structure into the skirmish (not multiplayer since it would cause balance issues) and devise some sort of mechanism for generating research points, maybe when a unit is killed sometimes something is left that can be collected and used similar to the artifacts in single player. bring in an academy building that lets you buy upgrades for your units, like the '75% less splash damage to friendly forces' for siege tank and either use minerals/gas for that or something gathered in some other way, maybe from killing. reckon there will be some interesting mods appearing in the near future. for now though gonna just enjoy starcraft style balance in a shiny new engine that seems to run nicely, love colossi when playing as protoss, makes me feel powerful! :D
