LOL Operation Flashpoint 3

I can only surmise from both the quality of Dragon Rising and the fact they deem it deserving of a sequel that the developers at no point play their own games.

Well, I wont be getting it on release, that is for certain, but I am willing to give them a chance to redeem themselves, and hope they get it right this time.

And I hope people here don't blame consoles for the state of Dragon Rising. It was rubbish on any platform, and simlply badly executed.

they need to :

ditch the terrible matchmaking lobby
put in dedicated server support
fix character models (far too square)
add lean
fix vehicle handling (heli and cars)
better missions (less linear, dont penalise for going off course, more missions, better variety)
allow you to roam the whole map
provide patches when needed rather than just giving up when people get whiney

the one thing I did like was the environment and its graphics / effects
grass / skies etc where pretty and very moody made you feel like you were on a wind swept hillside

lol
As if that'll all happen

I wont give them a single penny purely because of the way they handled Dragon Rising. They had absolutely no interest in building a working relationship or even listening to the community of players who were so eager to see the game succeed. So why the hell they think that people will be jumping with joy at the concept of a sequel is beyond me.

I actually enjoyed some aspects of OFP:DR, but I found myself thinking, if only they would have fixed this or did this or opened the engine up a little to modding if they can't be bothered to do it themselves.

At least we have Arma II, that's how you should do a milsim.

Never played the demo so can't answer to that, but have been playing the full game for a year or so and have never found a bug, and performance has never been an issue.

No idea which game you've been playing, but that certainly isn't Arma2 you're talking about.

I bought ARMA2 when it came out and it was a buggy unfinished mess (released early to beat operation flashpoint), to the point it was pointless even trying to have a meaningful game. Went back to BF2 Reality Mod and haven't looked back.

Clearly you think its great so it must have stabilised, maybe I will re-install when I get my new computer built and give it another go.

I bought it at release as well, and was genuinely mystified at all the complaints (not just yours in this thread!)

Was at Asda at 12AM to get Dragon Rising and played it a few times with friends on xbl / pc its epic fail and wont be getting this

I bought it as well and never tried it after the first couple of days, horrible, horrible game.
I won't be "buying" the second one, it also seems to are not adding multiplayer in this new game, I mean they'll add coop but no player vs. player.

Yeah I bought this game having high hopes but it was very lacklustre when I actually ran it on my computer. Very disappointed so I'll be steering well away from the sequel.

**** Codemasters. They promised so much and delivered DR; a massive pile of mess.

To further add insult to injury they quickly concluded they would not be supporting the game.

I know of no other industry (possibly finance) where such backhanded, lying, selfish and lazy behavior takes place with little or no accountability.

DR was more than a bad game. It was an abomination of developer and publisher behavior.

The laws need to change, and Codemasters must be made aware (by you the consumer) that their "business model" is not applicable

Well, EA are making a mint doing exactly what they've been doing...
