Hi all,
I had to pick a sata 160gb seagate sata drive (notebook) from the dreaded pc world yesterday, needed it for a customer...
I'm wondering whether theres something wrong with the drive though...
When I put it in it's intended laptop and ran win xp setup cd it said "setup cannot access this disk"...
So I took it out and plugged it into a desktop PC with a working sata cable/port and it shows in device manager under "Disks" but not under Disk Management in administrative options.
When I clicked on Populate drive it says Status : unreadable...
Obviously its not completely dead or else it wouldnt be in device manager.
I downloaded the Seagate Disc Wizard SW but upon running it it says you need a seagate/maxtor drive in your machine for it to run lol.
Any ideas?
