Whats wrong with attempting to keep him in the area and phone the police?
How does he deserve going to jail for doing justice for the woman?
I would have done the exact same thing

Super-tallscreen. The ratio of that video really bothered me, I found it difficult to watch.
And just how exactly are you going to keep a man who has no problems with attacking a women from behind in the area for around 5-10minutes ( if your lucky ) For the police to arrive?

I'm growing increasingly tired of this as well.
It's not really that, it's the fact that a bloody big bloke has sucker punched a girl.
If you were on the recieving end you'd be glad someone had the brass to stand up for you, stranger or not. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but in that big a crowd of people it's sad to see that only one guy even made an attempt to do anything about it.
I thought I'd get quite a bit of abuse for my post but glad a couple know where I'm coming from. Obviously I don't condone wife beating or anything related. Anyone who makes a woman live in fear like that is absolute scum but I do think there's a distinction to be made between people like that and men who react when getting treated like a punch bag by a woman.
Like I said I'm not saying the woman in the video was doing anything like that but it's common place and I felt the need to rant

Definitely, they react like it's a grown man beating on a young child.
Just because they're a woman doesn't mean they A) their punches can't hurt, esepcially if they've got rings on, and B) That they should be able to dish out the beatings with no repercussions.
If a man and women of the same strength, weight and height were to be having a "fight" the man would still get jumped on and have a punnishment beating served to him.
Knocking out someone is much more effective than that... not to mention It's more just.
I know quite a few people who'd get out of any arm lock if they're determined.. It does not matter whether they break/dislocate a bone or two as long as they manage to stand up and beat someone up

I agree with that. Trying to sort an assault out with another assault is just plain stupid in the eyes of the law. Can quite clearly tell that the UFC fighter was also playing to the crowd and supposedly was stamping on the guys head, which can quite easily kill them.
Both of them should be either fined or jailed imo.

I'm sorry but don't talk rubbish.
If you have snapped your bone badly which is what would happen, not just a fracture. You would have no power to hit anyone, and you would just be right down on the floor again, with the other one broken.
Although those holds in the video are very unlikely to work in a street fight, there are many others you could easily use.
