Download the switchpro app, allows you to have a widget where you can turn on/off wifi/3G/bluetooth/syncing etc.

It's the bottom widget in this pic:

Don't you find launcher pro eats the battery life pretty badly?

Ok, Rom Manager, installed it, ran it, installed the clockwork bit, selected the option to backup, phone rebooted, saw the recovery screen for a few seconds then the phone rebooted as normal, so ran the backup again, this time it took a few minutes and i could see the progress bar etc... once finished and rebooted, i used astro to look at the root of the internal sd card, there was a new folder containing several files such as Nandroid and system etc... also in the root of the internal sd card there is an update.zip...

Is the update.zip part of the backup...?
If i flash a new rom and select the option to wipe the cache etc... will that not wipe the internal sd card and thus the existing backup folder and .zip??

Sorry for the newb questions, but trying to find any decent info on this app and whats going on is hard.

The update.zip if 1.~ mb thats your root file , you used to root your phone.not sure about wiping cche never done it so can't answer.

If you go from 2.1 to 2.2 its uses a diffeent kernal or something so you have to reflash 2.1 to be able to restore with rom manager :)

Before i did the backup, i did have an update.zip in the root from rooting the phone, but also copied it to the external sd card, having checked both, the one in the root is now twice the size of the backed up root zip, hence i thought rom manager may have done something?

Guess i'll wait for an official update, this all seams a bit too complicated for beta's.

Woody I find that launcher pro does eat the battery but I charge every night anyway so it doesn't make much of a difference. Best app killer anyone ?

Stick with it , its not that hard to work out. Just find one thats stable and stay with it unless the geeks over at xda start raving about another firmware thats what I do .

the latest froyo release IMOis pants and unuesable but hey they are text betas

I only wanted to do it because i thought i could, but if Samsung manage to release froyo in sept, then i'll wait and see... not worth the hastle for a few weeks.. as the phones been working great, bar one or too apps being fussy... nothing to worry about.

Autokiller (but your phone needs to be rooted)

It's actually a memory management app, but you can kill apps with it two. It works by altering the various memory thresholds at which apps get closed. You can either set the values manually or use one of the various presets which seem to work well.

Has anyone found the travel charger that comes with the phone for sale anywhere in the UK.

Quick goggle reveals nothing and my kittens have eaten my one :/

Been looking at the lag fix, and the best method appears to be an updated Kernel... JM2?

If I flash a new kernal, I take it i would then have to restore my backups from titanium to get settings and apps etc back....?

Whats the best official kernal, Stable? is it still JM2? im so confused, should I just wait for Froyo release, or would the firmware require updating for that anyway???
