**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Played 5 games online and lost 4 (was protoss and terran)
Seems like zerg always spam you with loads of units while protoss just build air units - this is in the practice league though

Yeah ggs Indie, at least i managed to win once :P.

Got a couple of interesting replays from today if anyone wants to watch:

Very lame pvp build that i picked up on teamliquid, really hard to beat unless the other guy proxy gates or you mess up. (The other guy in this replay is a rank 1 500 point diamond player, so it works on good players too):

A zerg tried to 6 pool me, i had only probes to kill his first 8 lings so was pretty surprised that i actually held it off:

had some amazing 3v3s tonight. terran battlecruisers with yamoto and level 1 weapons kick ass! completely destoryed the opposition with about 10 of them in 2 games...only problem is you need games to last that long without being rushed!

This Blizzard trial downloader is taking ages :(.

Ugh it'd be quicker to wait until 9am, go to PC World over the road and buy it. So thats what I'm gonna do, **** it :p.

I finally did the "in utter darkness" campaign map on brutal, after 3hrs of trying.

I tried alsorts and never got past 2000 kills (the target is 2500). Then, boom - 3260 kills.

In case anyone is interested:

* research improved shields and armour right from the start (essential!)
* warp in dark templars during the first 10 mins or so (before the void rays arrive). They're pretty much invulnerable because very few overseers are sent early on
* during that time, just move your forces from entrance to entrance depending on where the attacks are coming (they mainly come from just one entrance at a time early on)
* once the void rays are available, spam them like crazy. I found 4 starports to be enough. I had 24 void rays towards the end.
* you'll be limited by vespene gas, so use spare minerals to build point defence canons. I found a tight ring around the archive building worked much better than trying to wall-off the entrances, as it lets your forces cluster.
* when the second round of nydus worms come, you (probably) won't be able to hold the lower ground any more (attacks increase in intensity massively after that). So move up and wall off the entrances with point defences as long as you can...

I tried alsorts before this... massed collossi (no chance - far too delicate), massed carriers (no good - run out of fighters and are too slow), and massed dark templars with fighter cover (great until overseers show up, then they all die!).

Played my first mp game last night, i thought I was playing baddly as I cam very close to being overun but I won though air superiority. Nice chap in the end he told me to FU.

Quickest trial ever? Downloaded ~3.5GB of the trial, installing the full retail game now :p.

I need some real noobs to play against first :x.

Wombat 283 if anyone fancies some 2 vs 2

Still learning Protoss mind but found zerg are pretty weak to voids so hold the fort with stalkers while you tech
