Good! I like my hearing!

But it means that I'm not a proper owner of a cheap, turbocharged Japanese car, I.E I cannot fist my own tailpipe :(.

He reckons the system consists of a 4" drainpipe into 5" twin Exits . Not what I'd have chosen, but it's cheap and can always be silenced with baffles and bungs.

Nice to see you are living up to the Soarer stereotype, when are the chrome wheels going on :D

Is it bad that I've actually been considering going for the chrome wheel look? :( I've recently purchased a set of Supra alloys and was thinking about machine polishing them until they come out looking a little bit like this:

If you're anything in person like you are on the forums I suspect you'll be ribbing me all day long. The car is in quite a bit of a mess at the moment - Parking dings aplenty .

Can you blame me? I'm only trying to make up for the lack of a V8 burble! :p

Chrome wheels look absolutely fantastic when it's sunny all the time, unfortunately you live in London, not L.A. so they'll look a bit tacky really.

Looking forward to seeing your Soarer dude!

Oh and how about some Work Eurolines? ;)

My hairy jesus lookalike friend will be talking to you all day long about that soarer and he will convince you that the wheels are cool.

Have you fitted parking sensors to your car yet meanboy? If not, please don't park near me :D

I might pinch my brothers Peugeot 106 GTi for the day if I can find someone to insure me!

Who does decent day insurance for a 21 year old? Or would it be better to take out a policy and then cancel it and just pay the £20 admin fee?

By what definition is it fraud? ...The Company has made money out of you they would not have otherwise made at the end of the day and you have not defrauded them of anything.

You have the option to cancel an insurance policy for whatever reason you see fit after all. I am not saying I am right and you are wrong, I know you usually have something to back yoruself up with, I do not right now ...it just seems totally wrong to me. It doesn't make sense.

Fraud is obtaining funds (or services) by deception.

You are applying for an insurance policy during which you almost always agree that its either your car, or you are the registered keeper - either way, you must have an insurable interest in the car and if it isnt your car, you don't really have that. Secondly, you are giving those details in return for the provision of 1 years insurance. The insurance is offered to you on the basis of this covering being for 1 year.

The cancellation period is therefore because UK law requires it.

If you take out insurance on a car that does not belong to you and you do not have any insurable interest in with the intention of cancelling this policy within the 14 day period in order to obtain very low cost or free temporary insurance, this is fraud - you have provided the insurer with your intentions and circumstances and they have offered a policy, yet your real intentions and circumstances are different.

If you called them and explained you wished to have insurance for a single day, they would either:

a) Quote you for a different type of policy
b) Refuse to offer you insurance.

Pretending its yours and taking out a full policy to cancel it later is there to get round this, there is no other reason.

Just come in the Focus? You don't have to drive an 'enthusiasts' car. :/

Nah nothing that fancy mate!

Is this the jesus guy who has an FC RX7 that you were telling me about last time?

Driving the Focus doesn't bother me. I wanted to come in the 106 not because I feel obliged to come in an enthusiasts car, rather I just fancy driving it. :)

Having just read the posts I've realised (courtesy of Fox) that insuring it and cancelling afterward may be seen fraud. That's something I never thought of. Rather than dealing with the hassle later on, I think I'll just come in the Focus then! :p

Cheers, but it really isn't going to be much special - I've got in the rut of using it as my daily and I haven't done nearly as much as I wanted to do :(.

As for the wheels, I'm trying to keep things subtle ;). The Supra 17" alloys can very, very easily pass as standard, they're light, wide (8.5 front, 9.5 rear), the right offset, clear the brakes I want to run and cost peanuts (I picked a set of 3 with tyres for £50!). If I ever went with a set of expensive wheels it'd have to be a set of Advan SA3Rs, 18" in Bronze, or Gold mesh BBS'.
