Now an official Mondeo man (ST220!)

Sounds like a cracking deal.

I've got the same cream interior myself and think it makes the car a far nicer place to be. Found the black leather made the car feel too dark and gloomy inside.

Glad to see you got the sat nav, if you ever get any gps reception issues all you normally need to replace is the GPS antenna which is built into the car aerial. They suffer a bit from water ingress but it's only about £40 to fix.

LOL - I think I drove this car before you bought it! Did it come from the New Forest area?
If it is then the rear bumper is dropping on the rhs, wheel bearing needs doing, it needs a service, the jacking point cover on the passenger side needs painting and it needs a bloody good detail as the paint is tatty in places. Drives alright though. Also, there wasn't much history with the car. Good luck with it - hope you turn it into a decent car.

64000 miles! There are a few cosmetic light scratchs and the major service is due pretty much now (plugs coolant etc), plus the bearing which ive traced to the rear passengers side (sounded like front from inside cabin, funny how sound travels!).

Other than that its really great, drives straight as an arrow aside from a small amount of tramlining on poor roads, I guess thats one of the downfalls of 18inch wheels!

Really happy with it, going to do the service etc next week so I expect to be stung for 500 odd or there abouts!

The interiour is the grey/cream leather which I guess maybe reflects the price due to its marmite factor? Although from sitting in a lot of half leather/black full leather I think its actually nicer and seems a lot brighter.

I had heard the sat nav was rubbish was various sources so it wasnt high up on my list, but its actually really good, so if anyones looking for one with it id definatly say go for it!

I put mine in for a major service, wheel bearing and a new rear brake caliper and it came in at £500. That was at Ford too so wasn't too bad really.

Haha yeah thats the one, I thought that about the service history since I only glanced at the book, however there is actual invoices for 4 services (3 from ford 1 indy). So with the major one coming up thats one every 12500 miles, which is what it says on the handbook. So not too bad really.

Ive actually done the jacking points already, seems they are a weak part of the car (keep falling off etc). Cost me 20quid to have all 4 resprayed so not bad at all. Im going to get it detailed as well so will remove the swirls and should look great after!

I thought it was a total bargin, and since I got it for 500+ less than what it was up for I dont mind spending that on it right away for a bit of tlc.

But yeah as you said, it does drive really well, theres a lot of other seperate invoices in with the history as well, it had new discs and pads on the rear about 10k miles ago and a new caliper!

Definately plugs but not sure bout the gearbox oil. Im going to do the next oil change service myself so a fiver on gb oil wont break the bank

Thats a really good price then, just rang up my local ford and they want £360 for a major service, but that doesnt include plugs, chang of brake fluid or gearbox oil (hardly "major" really?!), I didnt ask about complete coolant change but I doubt they do that either, robbing %"£"^*.

Gunna buy the parts myself and take it to TGM I think, be half the price with everything included and at least I can be confident the work is actually going to be done!

Thats extortionate! I think my major service was 175

I think its my area, unfortunatly both of the ford garages within 15miles of me are lifestyleford, which seem to be mega expensive on the service front :(

On another note, jacked up the car today to check the wheel bearing on the rear, no play at all with it, so took the wheel off and inspected it, turns out the tyre was pretty deformed along the surface, so ive changed it and refitted and the noise has gone! So no wheel bearing needed thankfully!

Mine was making an awefull racket, was proper gone. Good news ur ok tho. Even tho il probably do the little services myself, i will get the majors done at ford so it gets a checkup occasionally. Mines up to 93k now and the rear subframe bushes are my next job

Fast forward a week and I actually love this car! Booked in for a major service monday at a ford dealership, 255 all in (including plugs), which is about £150 cheaper than the other dealership. Was quite surprised, bet they manage to shaft me in some way though.

Love the noise it makes as well, must resist a miltek!

Glad you like it, and you're still a git for getting it so cheap :D

I had a bit of a blast on the way home just now in mine... The amount of grip really is amazing for such a car. Understeer is minimal, no fuss from the FWD drivetrain at all, the chassis is brilliant and it's so balanced and composed. Ford really got this thing right. It's a wonderful balance of performance, refinement and handling. I hope to keep and enjoy mine for years to come like I'm sure you will :)
