Do standard gpu only blocks not fit them? Used to run my 4850 (similar power use) with one, with custom made vrm sinks (chopped up socket 7 heatsink), normal ram skinks and a near silent spotfan.
I dont see the point of a £60+ waterblock on a £120 card. Reusable standard GPU block and reusable ram sinks for that sort of mid range power card.
Nope. The mounting holes are only 61mm diagonally instead of the normal 72mm+. No way i was going to buy a full cover block for it that cost's half the price of the card. Full cover blocks are a waste of money in my opinion. I have had my Aquaextreme MP-1 for five years now and it's been on 6 different cards.
Watercooled a pair of them with zalman gpu blocks, low temps made sod all difference to clocking, sold the cards, blocks into my spares box and grabbed a 5870sold them for the same price I paid for them on release day lol.
I got hold of one of those cheap. Took it to bit's and was horrified to find that the inside diameter of the swivelling barb was only 3mm at it's base. Could'nt change the barbs to something that would suit my loop either.
