loads of 5770's for sale recently

I have another query, 2 5770s in X-Fire instead of a 5850?
As it costs around the same but 2 5770s=a 5870 so surely thats better.

I also have a good enough PSU for it so I wont need to pay more for that.

When you consider that the Radeon HD 5770 Crossfire setup costs just $320 US, making it 20% cheaper than a single Radeon HD 5870, 9% cheaper than the GeForce GTX 470, and just 3% more expensive than the Radeon HD 5850, it really starts to make sense. At just 3% more than the Radeon HD 5850 we enjoyed up to 50% more performance, while on average this setup still provided 17% more performance.

So 2 5770s is the best performance to value option?

Also, a friend may be selling a 5770 soon which could save me quite a bit on the overall cost (being as I can pick the brand new one up for £120 off ******).

Assuming you don't run into driver issues or have plans for that extra pci-e slot, pretty much. But I'm considering flogging my 5770 to fund a 5850. I had planned to go xfire on it but figure I may as well go single card and make some poor student happy lol.

*AHEM* ;)

None at all?

What res?

Whatever the highest one is - 1900X1200 is it on a 24" monitor.

The 5770 ran everything maxed so the 460 isn't that noticeable. Metro 2033 didn't run maxed without a bit of slowdown but it was so unstable I only really got to play it for about 30 minutes then gave up and uninstalled it.

Well no I don't have any other uses for the PCI-E slot.
But how many people were affected by the drive issue?

And if you are selling your card on eBay I'd be greatful for a link to it :)

I have 5770s in CF and have never had any driver issues. (if that helps?) I also decided to upgrade to a 5850 up from a single 5770.. Sold the 5850 and opted for another 5770 to go CF instead.. Not looked back since.
