Ramadan Mubarak to all the Muslims on here who are starting their 18 hour fasts from tomorrow and Thursday. :)

Was just wondering how this works? Say I was a muslim i am also a type one diabetic that has to have injections at set times now those i could change but without the intake of food in the day it would leave me especially prone to getting low blood sugers. Which are very difficult to stop yourself passing out without any intake of food/ drink?

Wont be getting my usual tales of Ramadan this year :( Used to work with a guy who talked about the different festivals. was really interesting.

Good luck and good health through your journey

Simplisticly you don't do Ramadan if you're young, old or not medically fit to do so. So as a diabetic you're expressly forbidden (I believe) to fast.

Yeah, I knew a guy with some serious heart problems that couldn't fast during Ramadan.

To the people fasting, what sort of food do you eat at the end of the day? Is it like a massive feast?

Yep you wont be required to fast as your not fit to do so.

Ramadan mubarak to my fellow muslims on here...not gonna be easy this year thats for sure:p.....especially moreso for me as i smoke.

I was out at my favourite Indian restaurant last week and was speaking to one of the fellas working there who always adheres to Ramadan religiously. ( pardon the pun ).

I don't know how anyone can fast and work in a place that prepares delicious cuisine. It would drive me mad. I admire their will power a lot.
