Movies others go nuts over that you just don't 'get'

I will admit that Dogma was a good film..

However,

Clerks,
Clerks 2,
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back,
Mallrats,
Chasing Amy,

Just aren't.. the big difference being, that Dogma has the feel of a more professional job, whereas Clerks certainly looks like it was made for less than $30,000. Clerks 2 was more of the same, Mallrats just wasnt worth the time, chasing amy really was pointless, and J&SB well, that was just cashing in.

Nope, its not understandable, they are awful chick flicks aswell. Plus to be honest, vampires, hot red heads, fight scenes, they aren't exactly textbook chick flicks, for one thing Bullock isn't in it.

Seriously though its just bad, there are decent "chick flicks" out there, with good acting, good stories. Its just three awful films, without a hint of good acting involved, awful stories, awful characters, awful fight scenes, just awful in every possible way.
 
Probably every film Oscar nominated for best picture/actor/director in the last 10 years (with the exception of the first 2 LOTR, Avatar, Gladiator and Inglourious ********)

Anything with Robert De Niro in apart from Untouchables.

I'm also apparently one of about three people in the world that doesn't rate any of the Godfather films.

Of course, I'd rate Watchmen, Inception and Dark Knight as three of my favourite films of all time, so what do I know :D

There will be blood - I think the ending was very badly edited. It came completely out of nowhere it seemed- annoyed me a lot.

No country for old men - Some people really like it, and fair enough, but I was bored from start to finish and didn't like the ending either. I get a lot of stick from fans for saying that, but it just wasn't for me.

Inception - really enjoyed this film. A lot. But it nowhere near deserves the crazy hype it has had - was a solid 8/10 for me. Great, fun, action movie, but nothing more really.
 
I really like There Will be Blood but would love for someone to explain to me how at the end everyone had aged 20 years but the young priest looked like he hadn't aged a day? Bowling Pin to the head is always fun though :D
 
I was going to say - you almost dismissed over 80 films there, the majority of which you probably hadn't seen! Although you've now said you didn't like any of the best picture films from the last ten years... excluding these five I've listed. :p

Edit: Ah, you said nominations. My mistake.

There Will Be Blood probably has one of the best final lines in a film for years. Love it.

I liked the film in general. I just felt like the end came out of nowhere - "wait, this is 20 years later? Where are they, what's going on? But they look exactly the same. Why the hell is he still mad? Oh battered."

I mean, to be fair, I get some parts of it and I did think that Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs were decent movies, but I don't think that his later movies and even those two were deserving of the praise given to them.

I'll also second anyone who said No Country For Old Men. Good acting, interesting storyline, but then it ended and that was that? Pshaw. No thanks, I prefer my stories to have a bit more to them.

My gf was obessesed with Twlight when i first met her, i cured her of that, how?......I introduced her to True Blood, now she thinks everything else vamp releated is crap.
