Just finished playing the original crysis and...

I really like Crysis.

The only annoyance for me was that the helicopters still followed you even if you were moving cloaked under dense foliage.

I think its a brilliant game, though I am frustrated at the crap settings I have to play it at. Once a <£100 card can play it 1920x1200 on high I'll probably play through it again. I just love the way its really up to you how you approach each situation, the suit abilities add a lot to the game imo. Also there are SO many 'crysis' moments in it when you do something ridiculously sweet and it makes a cool chain reaction of realistic consequences.

i also liked crysis and io have just started warhead.
cant wait for crysis 2 to come out later this year

I replayed the level endless times that starts with the tank in the tunnel & goes all the way to the mine along the railway, just after you start you can find a better tank that fires rockets & to make it last all the way I used an ammo cheat as there was non to pick up anywhere ( the AI have endless rockets so why not me :p) shooting down the three choppers that appeared & the the huge tank battle was epic.

There's never been a game since that has captured the graphic realism found in Crysis, foliage that reacts to your movement, footsteps in the sand, coral & fish under the sea -even fossils in the rock, proper destruction that leaves the trees & buildings you knock down remaining throughout the level unlike frostbite where the stuff magically disappears two seconds later.

The only let down for me was the AI were always in exactly the same place every time you replayed it whereas you can get more random AI in some other games inc directly after a quickload in some.

I admit to being a graphics whore - Epic game :D

Crysis is a brilliant game, I bought it on launch day and it has stayed installed ever since.

My favorite parts are the section just after the Prophet gets taken and you have to make you way through the village and up to the dig site and the mental fight around the docks.

As for half life 2, I got it on launch day was completly unimpressed by it and gave it away a week later.

im only going to say this the once, with regards to the people who say the story is 'unoriginal', a workmate of mine many many years my senior once said 'there is nothing original, everything has been done before in some form, robocop and its similarities to frankenstein, etc' he was so right, nothing is truely original anymore and won't ever be original again. if anyone here can tell me an original story in recent movie or game that has never been done in some form or another im all ears, until then stop complaining its un-original, because to be honest nobody said it wasn't... sorry if this post offends anyone but sometimes you have to just say it like it is, and i apologise in advance. :)

I actually bought this the other day for £2.30. Not bad I think.

I have only ran the benchmark and played a little of the beginning. I shall attempt to play soon.

Graphically Crysis is a very beautiful game. The vegetation looks almost real like as opposed to the ones in other console games. It also has a good gameplay mechanics but I would say that in terms of fps Counter Strike Source is better.
Other than that I agree with some of the above posters that it is much fun shooting the soldiers than it is to shoot aliens. The aliens seemed very lacklustere and made the rest of the game feel very dry.

However in Crysis 2 the devs really seemed to have boosted the aliens aswell and they seem to rather act like humans. Hopefully the second one would also be a good one.

personally i found the aliens a nice, eerie breath of fresh air when i was getting bored of shooting koreans, cloaking, shooting koreans, etc. first time i played there was a genuine feel of the unknown, going into the alien ship i didn't know what to expect and was genuinely impressed with the game from then on, more so maybe than fighting the koreans. the whole frozen paradise thing was something i have never seen before..:)

Crysis is excellent, most people dismiss it without giving it a fair chance. Playing it as a stealth game, it's one of the best single player experiences I've ever had.
