You bought an i5 laptop with 6GB of RAM, and it DIDN'T have a dedicated GPU? Seems like a waste..

By "my" laptop I meant by brothers, and he doesn't play games. It was actually a free laptop since PC world (don't ask, he got it from there) lost the one he sent in for repair. None of the laptops there had good GPUs, they were all i5 integrated ones. It's a very fast laptop for what he uses it for. I just decided to try SC2 on it.
 
just realised how powerful zerg air units are, 12 brood lords and 12 corruptors are a prickly proposition...had insane amount of broodling chewing enemies resource operations up, great stuff. reminds me of the fun with the guardian in the original game, man those were evil :D
 
Woohoo got promoted into platinum league.

So how things are in platinum, in gold legue everybody would go for lame gimmicks such as void ray rush banshee rush rax rush, it was all lame.

Basically in gold its rush or be rushed xD

How is it in platinum can I still banshee rush or marines marauders is the way to go from now on?

platinum and even diamond tvt is tanks and vikings which is lame and i cant stand it. when i play tvt i just rush the terran who is teching to end the game quickly. tvp is zealots + storms or stalkers + colossus which is pretty overpowered or the lame 4 gate. tvz is mostly baneling bust or lings + mutas which is easy to defend against i never lost to zerg when i was platinum. i rarely play 1vs1 games anymore as i find them quite boring. i enjoy team games way more as they are more dynamic and you can try cool strategies.
 
Well 2v2 Platinum is even more lame than Gold, but not sure if that carries over to 1v1. I'm Plat in 1v1 but never play it :p

In 2v2 it's only ever 4 gate + 6 pool 2v1 rushes, proxy play or turtle and tech to VR/BC/Ultra's etc.

It's quite boring but we win the majority of our games (even with krono's disability).
 
thinking about starting to play a bit more Terran again. I hope platinum is prepared for me to be crashing back down on them :p
 
This has been the best RTS game I've played in years, I'm only playing the single player but I've really enjoyed every mission and I'll certainly play through again.

C&C since RA2 have been poor, so nice for a sequel not to be a massive disappointment.
