.AVI is a container format not a codec, yes it does support DivX, checkout the opening post in this tread for full list of codecs supported.
 
Just got this phone on upgrade, well 3 hours ago.

It looks great but its primary use at the moment is as an ornament until orange register it. Hurry up you lazy sods.

Phone supports just about ever format ive got lol, I watch some HD stuff on it mvk works just fine, avi works fine DivX works fine got to say its a really good video player and the screen just makes it that much better XD.
 
Also out of interest, do most of you leave 3G switched off to save battery? Do you think it makes a big difference?

email address: [email protected]
password: *********

Click Done>

What type of account: Choose Exchange>

domain\username: [email protected] (just your email address again, I was an idiot and went with the format they asked "xxx.com\xxx"
password: ********* (although it's already filled in for you, I entered it again)
Exchange server: red002.mail.emea.microsoftonline.com (I'm using BPOS, whatever yours is, don't enter the https://, just the server name)

Use secure connection SSL: ticked
Accept all SSL certerficates : ticked

Then it should check incoming server settings and you are away, choose what you want synced etc.

How have people been finding the phone post lag fix? Is anyone still having problems with the phone's responsiveness? Contract time is coming up soon and it's either this or the Desire I think. The only deal-breaker for me is responsiveness. I've wanted to hurl my Touch HD against a wall so many times...

Couldn't go back to the standard SGS without the lag fix, everything just seems incredibly rapid and responsive apps load up very quick, screen transitions smoothly. And the benchmark of quadrant speaks for itself as well.
 
OMG thanks for the links to the lag fix!!! I was running stock vodafone firmware which suffered badly from the lag, so I flashed it with the stock JG5 rom and the lag was improved lots.
I then downloaded quadrant and ran it and to my horror I scored 990!!!!
So I decided to bite the bullet and try the lagfix so I rooted the phone and did the lagkiller fix.......................... I ran quandrant again and scored 2237!!!!! Result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait for Froyo now!

need a bit of help. with SMS pop ups

I have handcent and sms popup. (just recently updated firmware to JM5)

Now Im getting 2 pop up boxes when I get a text. I get one with a reply box (dont want this one) and one with the text and 3 buttons (delete/close/reply). Want this one.

I have tried everything, I can get the one with the reply box only. But cant get rid of it.

I hope I have explained it ok. lol

The one with three buttons is the SMS Popup App. You want to keep this.

You'll have to go into Handcent application and disable notifications from within that app. While you're at it, go into the default Android Message app
and disable notifications there

Frenzy I am running the official Samsung XWJG5 firmware overlaid with launcher pro v0.7.5.1 instead of the touchwiz, I also rooted the phone and I did the lagfix v2.3 on it.

I was originally on the Vodafone XXJF3 which lagged so badly which "forced" me to flash to the XWJG5 and while the lag was better it still wasn't perfect so I decided to take the risk and root the phone and install lagfix v2.3 and now the phone simply flies!!!! So glad I did it!! I was worried at first because I only got the phone on Friday lol!!! But doing it unlocks the full potential of the phone and it is very simple to do with minimal risk providing you can follow instructions well. To me it's the best option until Froyo 2.2 comes out.

So many settings, shame the std ones dont get disabled when you enable an addon version.
