Yooo, so bits and pieces are being leaked from this phone, thought I'd make a thread where all these "leaks" can be posted, and we can all share.

I was just going to go for a Galaxy S, but now I'm thinking of waiting for the Desire HD.

Anyways, let's kick things off with a quote with NO SOURCE!

In the past week we have had “Leaked” information on the handsets spec which reveals that the HD will reportedly sport a the same 1GHZ Snapdragon which features in the current HTC Desire but will come pre running Android 2.2, it will also have a 4.3inch WVGA screen, 8 Megapixel camera with LED flash, SRS surround sound and auto face-detection and finally to get its HD tag, the updated Desired will also sport HD 720p video capture.

Now the specs on the Desire HD do seem very similar to the HTC 4G EVO handset that is currently on release in the US and if the Desire HD is released here before the EVO it would be hard to see the EVO ever coming to our shores… but we won’t shed too many tears over that as yet another leak (a video this time) has revealed that the Desired HD certainly isn’t lacking in the looks dept.

That would be on track for the rumoured October release. If it comes out as a carrier-exclusive I am going to be VERY hacked off though. I hope HTC release it sim free and unlocked like all their other decent phones recently.
 
gingerbread is supposed to be released near the end of the year, its supposed to stop the fragmentation by allowing google to update important parts of android via the market.

i'd hold out on buying another phone until it has 3.0 on it, don't trust OEMs to push updates out.
 
Any idea when that will be? I'm moving out to uni on the 11th September and would rather get a contract phone shortly afterwards, PAYG will cost me a fair bit...

Just get a rolling pay monthly sim only deal. Tesco, £15 a motnh, 500 minutes and unlimited texts.
 
Hopefully it will be priced at around £400 or less.

It does look quite something though, we'll have to wait and see.
 
Definitely looking like the phone I'm after - hopefully it will be out sim-free / on decent contracts by October/November as am getting bored of the rubbish web browsing on my n79!!
 
Jeez 1:31s and all he does is zoom in, zoom out and show the back do a bit more zooming in and out before he shows us the top, bottom and sides.

1/10 for informative video.

Other than that it looks a nice phone.
