Call of Duty: Black Ops

I wont pay £130 for a game, even if it goes come with toys and £65 is abit much as well frankly.

Anyone who got the NVGs were they actually any good?

Rumor has it these are the zombie maps from World at War updated for the Black Ops engine valued at 15$ which is MW2 map pack money 1200 points

is it just me that is put off from that MP video? Things that I dont like:

Buggy at 3 kills - yes it looks fun but im sure the novelty will wear off when EVERYONE is using them :-p
Knife that shoots out of handle?? Commando was annoying, this will be annoying. At least you have to collect your knife this time.
Crossbow - assuming its a 1 shot kill like the knife.
Cameras - a campers wet dream.
There appeared to be a guided missile flying around at head height on that video - please no!

I havent read up in great detail, think i might wait and see on this one.

Hard to say, but at 3 kills it has the power to take down multiple enemies, seems a bit easy. Of course, neither you or I have played the game, so its just speculation!

I just see a lot of anger on the MW2 thread about the commando perk. The only thing that annoys me about the knives in MW2 is that they are instakills regardless of where you stab someone. If they changed that to make it only instakill when stabbed from behind then my knife issues go away!

Yes - cameras do make for interesting tactical play, however, they could be easily used by campers seeking out their killstreaks. Again, time will tell.

Ha, yeah these killstreaks do look fun, not denying that. The killstreaks in MW2 initially looked fun, but when every one is camping out to get them they quickly become annoying. IMO it looks like its getting a bit frantic, with buggies and missiles flying around it could turn out to be frustrating - especially if the spawning system isnt fixed...

edit: I meant no to guided missiles. The video editing will be good. Easy kills while kids are pulling 360s ;-)
 
Well I am not getting to upset about anything yet, simply because we do not know enough information about the game yet to say if things will be broken or not.

There might be perks that makes cameras/buggies etc useless. Who knows you might be able to shoot buggies to blow them up if you see them in time.
 
The Hardened edition looks cool, I like collectables rather than some crap (the car looks way too overpriced).

I hope the medal is metal or atleast has a weight to it rather than plastic though.

Be interesting to know just how much damage the RC car does when detonated, like will it be the same damage the Predator missile does, in which case the car would need to be driven pretty close to your opponent

I'd imagine it nearly has to connect (half the pred radius or less) and maybe you wont even be able to throttle down so its just full speed ahead until you hit a wall or person.
 
I think I am going for standard, the choice now is XBOX or PC. I prefer the PC gaming itself but I really like XBOX Live, plus most of my PC gaming friends prefer to pirate games rather than get a job and buy them so XBOX it is for me.

Seems average. Dont see why they would get rid of uav equivalent at 3 like other CoDs. May change before release.
Looked like a bit of equipment so no different than a throwing knife.
Secondary weapon with what seemed to be 2 ammo. No different than like an rpg or similar.
Will most likely be a hinderance the majority of the time due to taking up screen space.
Who knows. Long range rpg? Wont be much more overpowered than launchers.
