What is oil consumption like?

Edit: Video does make it sound a bit nasty. It it more tappy or knocky in person?

Tappy, definitely not knocking!

Oil consumption... well it is at the same place on the dip stick since when I picked it up (900 miles ago)

If its only when cold, I'd suggest its probably just hydraulic lifters, not much to worry about on a car of this age as long as it goes reasonably quickly.

Started from cold, and I moved the camera to the location of the tapping :(

It wasn't doing it before!! In fact it was around the time I put 95 ron in it, from Tesco 99 Ron or whatever it is... doubt that would have caused it, but around 400 miles ago

I doubt the fuel change did it, and I'd suggest that you simply didn't notice it before. But in the interests of being thorough, just try a few tanks of SUL through it again, just in case?

It "could" be chain slap but I doubt it, as the noise seems to be coming from the bottom/back end, I couldn't really tell on the video as you didn't alter the revs much, but does the noise get quicker until around 2,000 RPM, and then go away?

Is it firing on all 6 cylinders? I'd be tempted to pull the plugs and see what state they are all in.

Umm, Revs go away around 3.5k rpm, and it quietens down after a couple of miles, and goes quiet all together after around 5 miles (just been for a drive :) )

Now you come to mention it, it sounds like it could be running on 5... Will have a check cheers.
