***Official***Smashing Southern Meet (Hampshire Meet Mk V)

Thing is, if I bought him, he would indeed have the best birthday of his entire life.

He can tell a car by looking at it's headlights.....

I think his mum might have something bad to say about that. Although little'uns are great for sending up the chimneys and down the mines. :o

I could say the same about my nephew, when he 1st saw my new car, and after we'd explained that I'd got a new car he says: "Is it faster?" :D He's got his priorities in order.

Someone remind me to post his Birthday card tomorrow.

There's always room in the Jaaaag ...lot's of room. Although I don't really consider it fast, it's probably faster than Howard's hair-dryer though tbh :p

It also has cool things like electric rear sunblind, electric pedals, a valet button ...enough cow and tree to start your own national park etc :)

Oh then there is the Bentley, which really is fast! ...and has more cool things.

.
Nah, Your power to weight ratio: 154bhp/ton, mine: 170

:p

You'd probably have me once rolling and up to a reasonable speed though

170bhp/ton ...that's higher than I thought tbh ...higher than the 540i even ...slightly. The Jag is rather lighter than most would expect though, and the V6 in it is quite powerful really at 245bhp ...I believe it's the same basic engine as the ST220 uses but with various modifications, including variable valve timing.

The MX5 isn't that fast tbh :p

I'd like a ride in the Jaaaaag to see what it's like :) You can have another, proper ride in the MX if you want, where it's properly warmed up and the weather's good :p

Mobile Hair Dryer finds it harder to pull past 100mph, its simply not geared for top end work.

Nope pulls fine but runs out of revs at about 125mph.

..Allegedly.

Oh the Jag really isn't fast either. It's quite a bit slower than the 540i that's for sure. It's what I call 'quick enough' ...quicker than the average car anyway. The 540i is what I would call in no uncertain terms, quick!

Jags have very lazy gearboxes though, which slows them down some what.

When you think about it, it's a testament to the massive power and 'relatively' low weight of the XJR that despite having a lazy gearbox it cracks a standing 0-60 in 5.3 seconds :o ...on paper.
