beckii cruel

The point is, their culture is different ... but I disagree about the f'ed up view though

Censoring pron? thats f'ed up! ;)

I agree though, its just different cultures. I've always wanted to go and travel around japan, it just seems like such a wacky and fun country

I found it pretty interesting, more of a story driven thing than Appleseed, but Appleseed was more fun overall

just sound terribly jealous OP imo

if you actually watched the show you would see its nothing like how you describe

she was a quiet schoolgirl who posted videos of her doing something she ENJOYED and had FUN doing on the internet. by chance someone wanted to pay her for what she enjoys doing . would you say no if someone seen you posting about an overclock on here then offered you massive cash to do it ?

she was very modest about it all too. shed spent all summer being a superstar in japan and hadnt even told the people back at her school about it

she and her family knew of the risks and know of dirty old men but so what ? she was never going to be put in a situation where they could effect or cause harm to her.

as for how she got into anime. surely kids from her generation see it on kids tv channels constantly ?

i thought it was an interesting docu tbh... i would have loved to of got paid for acting like a kid when i was a younger

it available in dub? (yes i know, i do like the Japanese voice but normally im doing other things when watching so if it's not in English i miss huge parts of it :p)

I've never understood this anime craze. Confuses me that grown adults can be into such stupid childish cartoons, and get all the dolls and what not. It's very weird.

I would reply to this ... but I gave a comprehensive answer in a thread a couple of weeks ago and I really can't be bothered to correct this trolling again at the moment ...

yep, I'd really like to go there some time :(

Definitely do. It's amazing, just so dang expensive. If you're young or unemployed, go teach english for a few months out there.

I like LOTS of anime. Even some of the younger generation ones. People on the train in Japan are seen reading manga not papers. It's just the culture. The Simpsons/Family Guy <Both cartoons, for children and adults.

If you're looking for a more adult anime to get you started... watch

Monster

Plot Summary: Kenzou Tenma, a Japanese brain surgeon in Germany, had it all: incredible skill at his work, a rich and beautiful fiancee, and a promising career at his hospital. However, after becoming disenchanted by hospital politics, he chose to save the life of a young boy who got shot in the head over the life of the mayor. As a result he lost the support of the hospital director, as well as his position in the hospital and his fiance. A short time later, the hospital director and the doctors that replaced him were murdered, and once again he was catapulted back onto the top. But as the chief suspect of the murders, Tenma did not get a easy life. As a matter of fact, it seems that the boy he saved was much more than he had appeared to be... Now to clear his name and to correct his past mistake, Tenma must get to the bottom of these and other murders, and investigate the truth of the Monster who is behind all of this.

Completely agree. :) I'd love to end up working there in the next few years.

Yes it might sseem a strange country (what foreign country wouldn't?) but it's normal to them, and allot of the content is not nearly as malicious as some people seem to think.

I don't understand why some immediately assume anime is all 'childish'? There are dozens of shows that are aimed at late teens/adults. I wonder how many adults have watched a Pixar/Dreamworks film and enjoyed it? Or watch The Simpsons? Same as FabienO above, i watch a fair amount of anime, and some of it is aimed at a younger market, still doesn't mean i can't enjoy or appreciate it for what it is.

As an example of 'adult' stuff, if you were to look at the top 10 most popular, and top 10 best rated on the page below, and examine thier content, you'd find they're hardly aimed at young children. Many of those listed have decapitation, gore, mutilation,. Clannad, the one that's best rated has some of the most adult themes and content ive seen in an anime. Don't judge a book by its cover.

But hey each to their own, and i respect others opinions, i just think its a shame as there are some real gems out there, that adults can enjoy.

Sexualised obsession with school girls, a lot of their quirks I'll put down to different cultures but I can't let them off with that one.

I dunno there's definitely something to the school girl look :o
