Topic on Passionford.

I doubt that you would have been able to hear the tyre popping over the sound of the engine.

Won't the crash investigation look at the state of the tyre? A blowout is going to look quite different to damage from the kerb.

That passionford place seems to be filled with the sort of people that hang around mcdonalds with their cd players booming out all sorts, whilst milling around in tracksuits and saying "innit bruv".

Thread seems to have vanished, anybody got a Googlecache link?

Interesting moderation over there........

R.I.P.

what a mess of a thread (on the Ford board)

one group trying to justify kids racing on the road, the same group getting all upset when anyone pipes up about local residents getting upset about dickheads racing about

i feel that he was clearly driving out of his depth, tragic mistake but i doubt it involved anyone going 140mph. wonder if his friends wanted to be involved in all that? has definately made me think about the stupid stuff we get upto sometimes

What Ford was it anyway? It looked like a heap from the late 80's, early 90s? How long must the stretch of road be to get to 140mph?

What what I've seen of the discussion of an 80's ford being safer than a modern 5* NCAP poverty spec eco wagon, it was a sapphire.

It looks like a heap of a Sierra from the 80's. Problem is judging by those forum sigs it'll have been stripped and lightened as much as possible, all safety equipment (if it had any) removed to save weight, and a whopping big turbo slapped on it.

And the Cosworth 4x4 was a fast car in its' day before modifications!

I havent seen the vid, (its removed) so 140Mph sounds unlikely, but given the style of "innit bruv" street racing the crash was probably over 100Mph.

Should have raced on a track, he might still have been alive.

Video shows nothing, it's in the dark and the camera is facing the other day until after the crash when it pans over to the wreck. You can simply 'hear' the crash.

I've not really read much else on the PF forum but was he just traffic light GP'ing another random car or was this a proper organised Need For Speed/Fast & Furious drag race?

I don't understand, are you saying you believe his 90's Ford Sapphire is safer than for arguements say a new Corsa?
I was saying neither.

However, being NCAP 5* for adult passenger safety, I would imagine a new Corsa would be a lot safer than anything ford made around that era.
