What is the highest fluoride toothpaste available?

I have a great idea of adding cyanide to toothpaste and the drinking water, it is good for the teeth.

seriously, "it is good for the teeth" is the most laughable scam of putting a highly toxic poison in low ppm in toothpaste and drinking water.

it just shows how ****ing gullible and susceptible to brainwashing and manipulation the masses is.

I think my cyanide toothpaste will sell well considering...

:D :D :D :D :D :D

So if it's so toxic why haven't people died in thier millions?

I tried organic toothpaste, it's like somebody's had a crap in your mouth though. It even says on the back of this particular one I got that it takes around two weeks to get used to the strange taste. Went straight back to Colgate stuff.

because its not going to kill you in small doses... but it does have some fairly dodgy effects like dulling emotions and, suprisingly, making teeth brittle.
your teeth are fine unless there something wrong with them, theyve evolved for millions of years to nash on things, just like the rest of your body. basically, in my eyes, putting anything in you thats not food or a proven medicine is pointless at best and generally detremental

There are not many substances listed as poison, but fluoride is one of them, they have made rat poison out of fluoride at one point. So regardless of any single argument you could come up with, there is absolutely no justification to add a chemical classified as a poison, even in low 1000ppm, to the water. Adding it to the toothpaste is just as retarded.

At 1000ppm it won't kill you instantly it will slowly cause cancer and other such diseases. Cause brittle bones and lead to neurological and nerves system related illnesses.

I cut fluoride out of my diet years ago. Tried to.

except you naturally tend to die at 30-40 before anything has had time to wear down.

Lead has a toxicity rating of 3 meaning moderately toxic.

Flouride has a rating of 4 = VERY toxic.

Those are NFPA ratings which are designed for emergency service use where people would be exposed to vapour hazards in a fire, they are not relevant for oral exposure, ethanol is toxic yet has a rating of 0. They are also incorrect, fluoride is an anion with no rating itself.

We indeed live way too long. Old people are the way they are, because their bodies aren't supposed to live that long and handle even the most mundane tasks at that age. Humans are designed to die at around 40-50, any length of time after that they will start noticing that things... break. Teeth and all. Dental care prolongs the life of them.

we live *too* long because of our health care system. were getting to the point now were we basically running out the life of the cells (although interestingly we seem to be evolving to live longer too, as if you live longer you can look after the next generations sprogs). im all about the evidence personally, and so far i think its fairly obvious that putting it in water is bad for you. however from my understanding (and correct me if im wrong) this is one of those persistent chemicals which the body cant excrete? wouldnt this mean that youd want as small amount as possible in your body.
is there any research around balancing the *teeth saving* effects vs general nastyness because of ingestion.
also how long has flouride been in general use for? because if it sover a few generations i think were probably safe :D

It's groen, what do you expect.. The resident CT in everything.

Love the people saying it's a poison, nearly everything is a poison. We use many many harmful poisons, because at a low dose they do good. At high dosages is where problems start.

Not it isn't, first and last statements likely correct, middle statement rubbish. There is nothing to suggest toothpaste used properly causes problems.

I never said it caused problems, just that it's probably a tiny bit bad for you. Like eating slightly burnt toast is.

Ah bugger, I've been dragged into this debate now.

I don't believe in conspiracy theories.

fluoride toxicity in humans:

Fluoride is toxic when consumed in excessive amounts, so concentrated fluoride products should be used and stored with caution to prevent the possibility of acute fluoride poisoning, especially in children and other vulnerable individuals. The lowest dose that could trigger adverse symptoms is considered to be 5 mg/kg of body weight, with the lowest potentially fatal dose considered 15 mg/kg of body weight. Nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting almost always accompany acute fluoride toxicity. Other symptoms like diarrhea, excessive salivation and tearing, sweating, and generalized weakness may also occur (32). In order to prevent acute fluoride poisoning, the American Dental Association has recommended that no more than 120 mg of fluoride (224 mg of sodium fluoride) be dispensed at one time (19).

Pretty much everything is toxic and a poison. It's the quantities that matter. In small doses many poisons have beneficial side effects. Look at toxity of any drug and you'll find it is a lethal poison.

5mg per KG of bodyweight ey?
so lets say I'm 83kg (which I am) thats 415mg
The active ingredients of Colgate TOTAL™ Toothpaste are:
Triclosan 0.300% w/w
Sodium Fluoride EP 0.32% w/w 1450 ppm F

so per 100mg tube you get 0.3mg Sodium Fluoride
so I'd have to eat 1383 x 100mg tubes of toothpaste before I had ANY effect from the fluoride.

.....

If fluoride increases foaming at the mouth, dulls your emotions down, makes you confused, fuzzy headed, lowers IQ,sperm count, easily manipulated by outside powers then why hasn't anyone noticed its effects and told someone aka news agency?

Another thing is there not a lot of medications that contain fluoride ?

because there is no evidence of such things.

Fluoridation has little effect on risk of bone fracture (broken bones); it may result in slightly lower fracture risk than either excessively high levels of fluoridation or no fluoridation.[10] There is no clear association between fluoridation and cancer or deaths due to cancer, both for cancer in general and also specifically for bone cancer and osteosarcoma.[10][11] Other adverse effects lack sufficient evidence to reach a confident conclusion.[11] Fear that water is fluoridated may have a psychological effect with a large variety of symptoms, regardless of whether the water is actually fluoridated.[1]

I know that their is no evidence of flouridated drinking water being harmful in any way, but should we really be adding anything to our drinking water supply.
