***Official***Smashing Southern Meet (Hampshire Meet Mk V)

Yeah the ear was horrible :( Reminds me of the Mike Tyson ear-biting incident

Well, new people will remember me. :p :D

It is horrible, but these things happen and I decided I would come to the meet anyway as it wasn't affecting me badly really. Hurt this morning but by the time I was at the meet, was totally fine....just not for you lot who had to look at it. :p

I would like to get it remapped one day... just don't know how to go about getting it done and if it affects my warranty then i'm going to wait for the warranty to expire first.
Will need to ask you guys for advice when I do decide to get it done!

I got mine done in warranty and Fiat didn't kick up with a few small claims I had to make. It's quite hard for them to prove you have a remap and that it was even the remaps fault but understandable you don't wanna risk it.

Generally involves driving quite far to someone who'll do a good live remap. They pop your car on a rolling road, get the stock figures, upload a map, tweak it about a bit to get it right for your engine and what you want and then do a final rolling road to 'prove' the gains and work they've done.

Don't even consider a 'plug in tuning box' etc....

So what is your car Peerzy, am guessing somekind of Fiat? When you booted it I thought it sounded quite nice. :)
What was standard power and what did the remap result in?

Haha I can't tell if you're taking the pee or not :p

It's a new shape Bravo (not that anyone really knows what one looks like cause Fiat have sold all of about 7 to date), standard they are 150bhp and mine made 180bhp at Powerstation this year - not bad from a 1.4 with a teenie turbo.

You managed to get literally mm's away from it at one part of a corner, totally **** myself.

Well that wasn't so bad.

We're not going to mention any specifically questionable overtakes are we Bryan? :o

I blame Sam anyway, his driving was leading me into bad ways.

I was really reluctant to overtake on the way to the pub, kept moving towards the middle to check on oncoming traffic among the bends. Tute, I presume that was you behind me? If so, should probably have left you overtake me and show me how it's done, lol.

AD08 things

Thanks for the write up.

Perfect for me as feel is what matters the most along with lots of dry grip. PLus finding a tyre that can get close to or beat the OEM Bridge RE10 on teh Teg is ideal.

Not too bothered about wet performance as I had P6000s all round on my last car for a few years, so I really am the 'regnet meister' after those experiences :D

Will be picking some up on the drive to get my car setup once I've finished all the new bushes, camber arms and Brembo/Carbone Lorraine brakes.

Looks fun guys, needing more pics though !

curry bout to arrive and i have founda bottle of zyweic... NOM NOMONOM

I don't think I noticed, I dropped my mobile phone while drinking a can of cider so I missed a lot of things.

Yeah I enjoyed it :) Now I have a mental image of what everyone looks like whenever I see the usernames :D Although I still don't know who half the people were today, as nobody seemed like they wanted to introduce themselves..

I sat opposite you in the pub, Howard sat next to you.

There were a few new faces there and I must admit I couldn't put names to all the faces. I do know who Peerzy is now, you (kind of obvious :p ), Joshy and Ricochet J at least.

And of course all the old faces I've met a good number of times before.

The DC2 ride was the highlight of the day

And no speed camera vans, awsome - Did anyone get pimping pictures of my STD? I need a signature :(

Nah you weren't too bad. It was the first overtake where I followed you into a gap where there wasn't really enough room.

I was a bit surprised at the white 'Teg though, on the way back from the pub I believe I was behind it and when there was a gap I was expecting it to go but it didn't - so in the end I did and ended up behind GIR for quite a while; was a hell of a drive that. :D

:o

I followed the white DC2 to the pub and we were behind a Polo and some people carrier, I couldn't find a decent clear spot for a three car overtake and kept hoping he would overtake so I could get past the slow people too...but he didn't. :( He did have his girlfriend in the car though, so I guess was driving sensibly. :)

Yeah, DC2 was following me, then I saw SoliD come flying past him, then you appeared and I decided 'enough is enough'. :p

Was good fun, could probably have had the Golf but thought I better play it safe.

Was good to meet up with everyone and put some faces to usernames; ricochet j, joshy, dbsamx, maccy and gibbo. I though the food wasn't too bad, but then I only had chips and cheesy garlic bread!
Gibbo, you car and driving skillz are awesome! Loved the evo and all the toys it comes with
Look forward to next time :D
