Gaming PC Spec

Oh and do you REALLY need the latest most expensive graphics card? Ive learnt through experience that there really is no point. You pay such a premium for what you get. Most games are still very playable with the mid-top end cards.

the 5870 is 10-15% slower and has no DX11 or Physx and CUDA. and i don't see myself getting 3 monitors for Eyeinfinity.

so the £90 extra seems worth it for Performance and bit of future proofing. buy at the top end then hopefully i won't have to worry for a while when it comes to games.

Erm, all of the 5000 series cards have DX11...

Also the GTX 470 is still fast enough for 1080p gaming, but if you've got the cash and you're wanting the highest FPS possible from a single card setup, might as well go for the 480.

while its true that the top end cost a lot more than the performance you gain from them.

however, they are still faster, and if u want the best, u have to pay for it.

personally i would stick with the 480, and could last u a few generations before it starts to struggle

it may have dx11 but it's not as well implemented as nvidia's

Yeah but it still has DX11 can't say it doesn't have it when it does.

PhysX + CUDA aren't used by that many people I don't think, but they're nice features to have.

For single card set ups though the GTX 480 is the way to go at the moment I believe.

Sorry, my heads not quite working at full pace today, massive migraine.

Yeah i realise the 5870 does DX11, just id read that the 480 dealt with it much easier.

i think the 480 is pretty solid in the build and the preferred choice.

This look good to go?

(Apart from DVD drive and Mouse, which i already have)

Spec looks good, just upgraded my spec to the Gainward 480 :)

Do you need the SATA cables, as the motherboard will come with them.
