Wing Commander 3 onwards - I loved Wing Commander 1 and 2, but then they went all silly with CGI overload, and forgot about gameplay.
Populous the beginning - went in the wrong direction.
High Octane – Take a look, was a bullfrog racing game based on the magic carpet engine, dreadful game. Tried to be wipeout 2097 in a way but failed. Which brings me to –
Magic Carpet 2 – Yeah. More of the same from the first, just upped the res a little and it ran like a total dog on my system.
Quake 3 – this really failed. Had nothing of the feel of quake 2
Resident evil – PC version, PS version was fantastic. PC version was a blocky mess considering it required a high end GPU at the time. Thankfully capcom now release slightly better console ports.
Mirrors Edge – I loved the idea, but it was just too frustrating to play. And it had a stupid disarm and shooting system.
Need for Speed shift – Another racing game that promised so much and failed. Rave reviews for a very poor handling game. Finally got some mileage out of it when I found a tweaking guide to set the handling up a little better.
Gran Tourismo prologue – What an embarrassment, its just a bigger demo of the, at the moment, vapour ware GT5 for PS3
Indycar racing – codemasters, wow you really messed this one up. Normally codemasters release decent racing games, this sadly was a travesty.
Crysis - Pretty to look at, boring and nothing more to do with this one other then benchmark and say – hey my PC runs Crysis… At 5fps… Great graphics good game do not.
Settlers 7 – really wanted to like this, but they need to take this back to how the first settlers were.
Silent Hunter 5 – what a mess. Game didn’t even have binoculars. After hunting around in Silent Hunter 4 and in my early years Silent Service II, this was a total disaster.
Grand Prix 3 – Mr Crammond. You messed this one up. It was nothing more then Grand Prix 2 but somehow it had more bugs and performance issues that even a highest spec PC couldn’t run it correctly. Grand Prix 4 even messed up with CPU over GPU, but GP4 is a lot better, and its what GP3 should, and could have been.
Bioshock 2 and Mass effect 1 and 2 get mentions only for the fact they removed pad support for PC owners.
