Your biggest ever let down game... EVER!

Empire: Total War - as others have said it totally ruined the series.

Spore - bought, watched my brother play it, and then never bothered installing.

Far Cry 2- had this preordered, hyped up by early reviews, yet as soon as I saw the user reviews, I sent it back sealed. Too many problems to even begin to spell out. Although it did show up a few gaming sites/PC magazines for giving high scores for early reviews.

Bioshock- seemingly loved by the console and PC crowd, I thought I'd also love this. Found the gameplay flawed (no penalty to dying???), controls felt awkward with a gamepad and KB/M. Seemed more like a game that should receive 80% reviews, not 95%!

Flashpoint 2. Like Farcry 2, another developer took up the mantle of producing it, and spectacularly messed up. Another classic of hype, big marketing budgets, but at the core was a poor console game. As testament to how bad it was, the developers stopped supporting it after a few months!

To a lesser point, Modern Warfare (1). Again hyped up by press and users alike. I thought it was okay, nothing more, and a massive step back from CoD:UO and CoD2.

Neverwinter Nights
Reasonable idea but so boring and ran like a dog when first released.

NWN2 takes the cake for dog bad performance issues. The main thread takes all the CPU and even when the window loses focus (minimized) it still runs at full capacity. It borked a (good) graphics card of mine once causing it to overheat and artifact.

And all that for awful graphics, even for its time

-Daikatana (early levels were too painful and monochrome)
-Incoming (100% bling 99% repetition 1% gameplay)
-Red Alert 3 (don't understand how they managed to screw this up because I actually enjoyed C&C3)

I m suprsied people are saying fallout 3 and bioshock I liked em both althrough I must admit bioshock was trying to be something it really was not ( a horror game) which it sucked on also I found the controls to be alittle awkard in a rush as well tbh it didn't disapoint me through

as for fallout3 its just the crashes

Completely forgot about RA3 and I also really enjoyed C&C3. Massive let down of a game.

There were quite a number of games that were disappointments in one way or another, some more, some less, but all of them did have some redeeming qualities here and there.

But the one single biggest turkey, especially after all the hype, was Spore. There was just absolutely NOTHING AT ALL in there that didn't stink!

Operation Flashpoint 2.

And also, casting my mind back a bit, Sudden Strike 3. I was a massive fan of the Sudden Strike series, I loved the whole micromanagement thing and I spent hours on it but the third was absolute pap! Bit off far too much and strayed from the genre.

CoH took over their role in the market though and all they need to do now is release a Pacific Theatre expansion or CoH2 and it would be truly excellent.

Tron 2.0

How Monolith were allowed to release the game with THAT Lightcycle AI is an abomination that has stuck with me for years.

Mirrors Edge

Praised for its art direction (despite the fact it clearly "borrows" its art direction from the terrible film Catwoman) this game is a broken mess. A game that needs to be "gamed" in order to get anywhere. The current lack of any sequel or news of, speaks volumes. Volumes that decent playtesters shouldve made before
