Catalyst 10.8 is scheduled for 25th or 26th August

It's not worked for several released for me I think there's a thread on AMD forums about it, lots of people get no signal when exiting sleep and have to reboot.

It worked differently for me, after resuming (powering up from sleep state) the system reboots, Windows tries to Resume and it takes a long time with at least 30 seconds freezes before loading Windows screen and some time on the desktop before it comes back to "normal". It seems to fixed itself after reinstalling the drivers (installing on top of the current ones).

Does Dirt 2 crash with a 5970 with these? Im still on 10.5s so anyone with a 5970 runing these ok?

Ta

I don't get it, why don't you see for yourself? They may be 5% Crossfire users who "aredoingitwrong" and you're going to rely on their opinions on whether it works fine or not? Nobody has reported any issues yet, you can always revert back to the old ones.

I find this unacceptable too. My I7 at idle sits at 143 watts with 10.4 and 188 watts with that last drivers. This is exactly where the additional heat is coming from. There is no reason why the 400 clocks can't be applied to dual monitors and 150 for single monitors setups. It's just bone idle on ATI part. Not impressed at all.

Yeah it started with 10.5's and it's still here, Nvidia force clocks with dual monitors only and not single, it smacks of incompetence on ATI's part.

Just tried to play wow with 10.8s for first time, when i move the mouse i get insane fps lag. drops to 5 fps or so. Gpu usage goes to 100%. Gonna try a reinstall.

Raven do you constantly have to rave on about Nvida this Nvdia that and always slagging off ATI or the opposite GPU manufacturers cards you own.

Its really quite boring reading your posts every day with the same old posts from you,i think the ATI guys know that Nvida at the moment are not having clock issues theres no need to constantly keep reminding people really.

The Sims 3 crashes with these. Weird, haven't seen anything said about it anywhere. Rolled back to 10.4s.

I haven't had any crashes with 10.8 beta so far, going to install offical in a sec, will let you know about the sims but sounds like you have already made your mind up and gone back for good anyway..

Why should ATI lower the clocks on overclocked cards? You are not "really" meant to o/c a card as it "could" cause damage as the warnings say when you turn on overdrive. The clocks are ok at stock so why should ATI worry about it? Im not arguing just wondering :)

avp still has issue's with these ? , one card is at 98% usage and the other is at 86% . is this a driver issue or game issue in avp ?

also my vantage score has dropped by another few hundred points yet again , at this rate this time next year i will get a score of 0

Did not get off to a great start with these 10.8s.
Installed directly over 10.4a (which should probably not have been done given the beta nature, I usually remove via control panel when changing drivers), led to a hard system reboot on loading windows, BSOD etc.
Got stuck in a system restore loop, but recovered and re-installed 10.8s again.
Gonna have to try some games later on, but for what its worth, the 2D idle clocks have remained at the desired 157/300 that I've become accustomed to ever since the 10.4a (single monitor/no OC), which couldn't be said for anything beyond the 10.4a. Haven't touched any driver since getting burned with the 10.6, so will have to see how it goes.

It's a legit issue, which others have problems with, if you didn't notice I was responding to someone who also has issues with idle temps. and you now start to look like you're jumping on the bandwagon, how is what I posted not relevant to ATI drivers, think before you post.

Hit the ignore button, no skin of my nose.

Im sure the guys in this thread and other threads know about Nvida and that they dont have any issues with clocks, why do you feel the need to constantly preach about Nvida in several threads?

About jumping on the bandwagon nothing like it,im just sick of reading the same old crap from you slagging off the opposite GPU manufacturer you own,its really quite boring.

Edit: yeah ignore is one way to solve this but its a shame as you do contribute some interesting stuff at times.

well I have 24 hours before my two trusty ATIs go into storage so you know I could test and do a compare.....

no need to turn this into a flame war its about AMD drivers, why does Nvidia come into it ? I know i m going acorss this time, but some of my freinds are coming into this ( as in my current gen of ATI or even the next gen HD5K) so i will be still activly cheacking AMDs drivers as I do own another PC that has ATI and not likey to change for nothing. plus testing thier PCs when they finally come around to sort it.

ATI build great cards as great as Nvidias if you have the purpose....
