Catalyst 10.8 is scheduled for 25th or 26th August

BSOD on boot up after install, nice one ATI.

Has happened to me for the 10.7s and 10.8s now. Very frustrating. Obviously conflicting with something on my system. Have had to use driver sweeper each time. Think I will give the next few sets of drivers a miss. The 1/2 fps boost isn't worth the hassle atm.

Safe Mode -> Catalyst Install Manager -> Uninstall -> Custom -> Select All -> Reboot

Well now my second monitor overscan is not working at boot. I have to put the overscan to the maximum in CCC for it to use my whole screen. Now I have to launch CCC, move the overscan bar just one notch and back and it's fixed. ATI just break something in every new driver release don't they!

same issue as me.

It amazes me the amount of people who call themselves “enthusiasts” can make such a hash of installing drivers. I’ll be installing this tonight over the top of the old ones and I’ll be amazed if I get any of the issues some of you are reporting, I might even make a video of it just to show how straight forward it is.

This has been around for months? Well, maybe one or two unaware forum users will benefit :)

To those who don't complain about higher idle clocks/temps - you don't overclock. What are you doing in these Forums anyway? :p

Something is causing the sleep state resume to act badly for me. I'm 95% sure it's the drivers, reinstalled them manually now not installing Catalyst Control Centre. Will see how it goes :( I don't want my s3 state to take as much time as booting up does...

I overclock my 5850 to 1ghz core and 5ghz mem using afterburner. I have no problems. Currently idling at 157MHz core and 300MHz mem with a GPU Temp of 35C and am using 10.8 :)

Right i got everything working properly with 10.8 drivers now and idle clocks are correct now, no more 400 idle speed on overclock. I had to use profiles though ofc to counter it like many others have said and its worked fine for me.

Not used AB but CCC to create my profiles. Got one for stock settings which puts my idle clocks down to 157/300mhz then overclock profile bumps to 400/1250mhz respectively. Seems to be working fine for me even when using flash content or viewing HD movies :).

every system is different and reacts different , hence why some having issues, others not..

i install over the top of the old ones without issues but it doesn't mean every other systems won't get issues

That would be very patronising! Everyone's hardware behaves differently with drivers.

Talk about a troll type post. The last two driver releases I have simply "installed over the top" as you have said. Then my PC has failed to boot into windows - what the hell else am I supposed to do? Run driver sweeper EVERYTIME I install ATI drivers. You aren't supposed to need to according to ATI and I have never had to before the 10.7/10.8 drivers . However, as an enthusiast, I am aware that all hardware setups are different and that these issues can happen to a small minority.

What gpu are you using?

I tried that, ended up worse off when trying to reinstall drivers lol.

I'm useing a 5870 2gb running WoW @2560x1600 x8aa everything on ultra except shadows

But tbh WoW is so CPU (C2Q @3.3ghz) limited it is the only game that hasant shown any improvment over my old card running at more or less identical fps in Dala and raids as my old GTX280 did at these settings 30/40 FPS in Dala on fights like Blood Queen
