Crucial C300 and ASUS P6X58D-E = Can't Install Windows 7

HELP!

Don't suppose anyone is running a Crucial C300 with an Asus P6X58D-E are they? I'm having a right game getting Windows 7 to install via the Marvell SATA3 controller. If I plug the SSD into the Intel SATA ports then everything is fine.

Marvell controller is setup to ACHI in the BIOS

I would tell you what the problem is, but everytime is different

1. Hangs on Setup screen
2. Hangs on Stage 1 (0%)
3. Hangs on Stage 2 (90%)

Like I say, the Intel controller is great but obviously not SATA3

the guy can't install windows so how does drivers come into play at p.o.s.t

He can do F6 prior to W7 install.

ah, do I need to be loading the driver at the page where you configure partitions? Haven't done that.

I downloaded all the drivers from the asus site. Do I assume that the Marvell download has the driver for this part?

Ah i get what your saying perhaps he needs to use updated drivers off the net an use usb stick to load them during install?

The Marvell controller is crap basically.

Install Win 7 on the Intel controller in ACHI mode, install the drivers for the Marvell controller and swap the drive to said controller.
