5770 1920 X 1080 ?

Weird, i get 40 Fps avg on crysis easy..

Non the less thanks for that.

Edit: Sorry forgot this would be for the 1920 X 1080 res yeah?

Thats bearable i guess.. i'll wait and see the results from forty for bfbc2 that and crysis are the only intense games i really play.. if you can call them that. DoD:s is'nt really anything special.

Fair enough but they are rumors as far as I can see, I was expecting issues when I got my 2 x 5770's but ive not encountered any so far 1 card runs hotter than the other but thats due to the clearance between the pcie slots.

Other people may have had a differnet experience but mines all positive and I've had the cards since December.

I've had mine since Feb, and they have demolished every game I have thrown at them, no stuttering, no cross-fire issues.

i'll be one of the people that get all the issues, trust me xD

i have'nt quite decided yet the original plan was cf 5770's but reading up about reviews and comments about the cards cf was more bad than good which put me off completely.

£119 i think the cards are now? around that anyway, 5870's around £300.. its something to consider. i don't partically care about the price difference but if the single 5870 is going to cause me less hastle i can see myself slipping towards that option.

It might be game dependant, I can just hand on heart state that I have had NO issues with any of the games I have played this year with them.

Look at it this way:

Sell your 5770 (£90) and buy a 5870 (£300ish) = outlay of £210ish
Buy additional 5770 new/2nd hand (£120/£90) = outlay of £120/£90

If the money is there, by all means spend it, but I was being frugal, meaning I also got a new HDD for the same outlay as buying a 5870.

Ive already stated that i will be staying on ATI and also, i have one 5770 at the moment, and im considering buying another but not quite sure yet.

Thanks for your reply

It will be fine on that res providing you're not silly with the settings (maxing everything on crysis and such like). Crossfire was a great move for me, nigh on doubled my fps in AVP, i've also had zero problems and that's on the so called dodgy 10.7 drivers too.

If you all seems to think that there Worth it. Then i think i might just get another card.
*Cheaper* and similar performance to a 5870?

Going by your sig, your current motherboard doesn't support Crossfire, as it only has one pci-e slot

If I have that right, then it'll need to be a 5870 or a 5850 (if you're happy overclocking it).

5850's can be found for £200 delivered if you look around.

Yeah no, ive already thought about that and if the performance is'nt up to my standard with these two new monitors on the single card.. i'll get a new mobo cpu and ram.. and card obviously. It's more than likely gunna be 2 5770's as im in the love with the cards to be fair. Im moving house in a week, and will be getting a bigger more spacious desk so i'll order my screens then.. and we can go from there :)

I was rinsing Just Cause 2 last night, 1080p, max effects, AAx8, AFx16, smooth as butter. :D

I was obviously looking in the hated section for reviews on these cards eh :p

Edit: Ive also only got a 550w, does your 520w power both cards without any problems krooton?

Sort of thing i'd probally be looking at on an upgrade,

Sapphire 5850 vapor-x 2048MB
Gigabyte p55a-ud4
Dominator 6GB 1600mhz
i5 650 3.2ghz (clarky)
