That's a very sexy car, especially in red. The black wheels go well.
When were you up in Oldham?
Very nice looking car![]()
How much?
Looks very nice. Any idea of power with the mods?
Pretty quick in a straight line easy to remap and all that crap, but very dull engine, and cabin, and it's just a bland car all round IMO.![]()

I have an S3, so pretty similar.
I used to have a Celica GT-Four and went to the S3 for a bit more refinement. I'm not sure how the LCR compares to the S3 for that but my Audi deffo doesn't scream out to be ragged and chucked around like you'd assume a hot hatch to do - the exhaust note is kinda quiet so you just notice the speedo rising rather than getting a shove in the back like I did with my Celica.
Suits me down to the ground though, I get roughly 28mpg combined with the S3 (heavier with quattro) and on a run from Brighton to Coventry I averaged 37mpg.
Once my next major service is done (4000 miles time) I'm going to put a couple subtle mods on it and do a basic stage 1 remap (260hp).
I have a LCR
Very nice car.
Like all cars - They do have a 'few' common problems though...
The last problem I've experienced is with the cooling fans. (the slow speed stops working)
However, there is a cheap and easy fix for this problem, as opposed to replacing the fans themselves, which will cost a couple of hundred at least.
cooling fans is a relatively easy fix, (control module under the passenger side inner wing iirc i paid 60 quid from the dealers for the module.
brakes- bloody expensive for front discs and pads funny funny money for decent quality parts iirc i was £350 trade for genuine discs/pads
calipers will fade/flake- easy to redo them though(guide on SCN)
Water leaks, you will have a leak at some point they all do - Door seals are a common favourite and easily fixed also watch for leaks around the pollen filter and on the bulkhead, also quite common.
mods wise it looks pretty much completeand your now looking at alternative turbo options
either a hybrid K4 for 300 horses or a big turbo kit (expensive)
enjoy the sub 25mpg fuel economy and the urge to make progress everywhere, plenty torque makes it addictive
kudos on the liquid Gauge, love mine to bits. might be worth checking with Jim at race diagnostics if you have the latest software(he updates FOC)

bill wise i've had nothing go wrong in 3 years bar the fan module (not even a coil pack )
servicing has been routine which is relatively cheap brakes are the only really expensive bill you will have
any questions jsut fire them up theres a good few of us on here with LCRS
ooft you couldnt be further for the truth,
the cabin may be dark but its not dull, seats are fantastic and its not just quick in a straight line. a good condition example is one of the better handling fwd platforms and with a few tweaks in the right places they are fantastic on the twisties. and anything that makes as much power and torque as a stock/tweaked lcr can hardly be called dull.
The brakes are going to need some attention, i get a bit of a judder when under hard braking but my mates focus RS does exactly the same. I wonder if its just something to do with these calipers ? They looks brand new mind you, i think they have had a repaint and some new stickers recently.
How doyou rate it compared to your previous (and rather excellent) cars?
Not a fan of the tints, mirror covers or the badge on the front grille, but it does look pretty good with the black rims.
It'd be interesting to see what the results are on an RR.
Enjoy it, excellent car.
