Yes, a careless generalisation since the OP made it quite clear that generalisations are welcome as conversation points in this thread. It's called a ghetto because the punters are, in their majority, brown. Calling Edgeware Road a ghetto beggars believe. If whites stopped pulling up their noses and go there, or the restaurants start serving Indian food, it would become a 'good night out with a bit of Indian grub guv'.
Its on par really...ive been here before the big nuke and it was much the same as well..if it isnt the immigrants getting bashed its the muslims or islam that gets bashed to death.
You just kinda get used to it and let the idiots get on with it...some of the comments ive read here in my time have been nothing more than hilarious.
It may be wealthy but that's to it's own detriment. Like I said, you just get the men hanging around doing not much at all. My old housemate works in a Park Lane hotel and the clientele may be hideously wealthy but it's their kids that end up causing the trouble, with nothing else to do in the evenings except drive around. It's exactly the same as a white chav in his Saxo.
I'm glad you're made feel welcome. I used to go to a pub quiz round the corner from it. The guys would wolf-whistle or click (?) at my girlfriend, even when I was with her. They'd stare non-stop at her and any other women and generally be intimidating and act aggressive. She hated it. If I was walking on my own I'd feel intimidated by groups of young guys hanging around, just like I would anywhere else in London. Hence, I dont like going there.
EDIT: You seem insistent that 'ghetto' is not the right word. Why not? According to Wiki:

its the same even right up north in newcastle , when the iraw/afghanistan war first started we got loads of refugee types up here ........
more recently the place is beeing filled with russians and polish people.

Tbh its not the first time hes done this...he comes on now and again posts up a thread that will cause max damage then walks away for a few mths then comes back...rinse and repeat.
How the OP got MOH was beyond me and i felt very disappointed that such an ignorant bigotted person as the OP got such an honour :/
Won't be the first time I feel ashamed for our gross little British race and their outrageous behaviour towards others. I just keep telling myself we're not all like that and just hope other nationalities posting here don't tar us all with the same brush us some trolls here so carelessly do.

I knew the OP was a raving lunatic from a post in his past but for the love of all things this post takes the biscuit.
I like to think this mentality is dying out.
if anything it is getting more prevalent at least where I live in Suffolk, the amount of immigrants is staggering you might not notice in big cities but when you small towns and villages seem to be swimming with them it kind of hard not to notice.

As has been said, Poles helped out in WWII or don't you know about the pilots that helped out in the London Blitz. I suggest you also google No.10 Commando, 6 Troop. Muslim units from Bosnia where recruited by Germany after the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem convinced their leaders that it would be in Islams interest. Google for the 13th Handschar Division. It may have been a diversionary tactic though as the Muslim units where among the worst in the German army. Don't forget the Free Indian Legion that fought against British troops in Italy.
