Lowered cars

Who said B roads?

Anyway, just how hard and low do you need to go before you encounter this problem with compliance? I've never experienced it, and have driven some stiff and low cars.

That's my wording on a country lane where I'm nothing but impressed with my Focus.

Tyres in the arches here too!

My MK4 Golf is lowered on a spring and shock kit, around 45-50mm...

It's rather smooth and comfy all things considered! For as low as it is, the suspension is complient and has plenty of give and my wheels/tyres don't ever catch my arches.

Sometimes it's not all doom and gloom :)

the rear of mine is similar to yours, the front is lower though, top of the tyre in line with the arch. oddly mine still has an almost completely oe-feeling ride too

oddly it is only the rear that has grounded too despite the front subframe being less than a fist-width from the ground

Doesn't really happen, the caster will cause more camber on turning, and the suspension compression from the roll will also cause more camber, thus it won't hit.

If you are drifting on the other hand, everything is backwards, and this can happen :p

Johns R32.. Crazy machine!

Ill have a root somewhere for some images, friend of mine has a lovely 4mm clearance between tyre edge and arch. 215 width deep dish BBS split rim on rear, 205 width on front with lovely 185 tyres give one hell of a stretch on the front and rear.

My old fiesta used to be like this, rubbed like a *****

Luckily I saw sense and have only lowered the Fiesta ST 30mm on Bilstein B12 ;)

My tyres are up in the arches, but I don't get any rubbing issues, even when driving hard on track. Having said that, the wheels do sit in-board quite far, so during compression they tuck into the arch and don't touch the lip. I'm considering getting some spacers to improve the stance, will probably have to roll/cut the lip if I do...
