So I ordered a Monitor from a certain rainforest themed shop and all is well except one thing. They stated on their website that it had a three year manufacturers warranty but the warranty card that came with it says it only has a 2 year warranty.

Anyway, the thread isnt about that. Its more about the hilariously bad, poorly written reply I got back:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting ********.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused in this regard.

From your email, I can understand your concern regarding the item you have received states that the warranty as 2 years where in our website we have listed as 3 years warranty.

I would like to inform you that, all electronic items purchased from ******** come with a one year warranty from the manufacturer, unless otherwise stated.

Please be informed that the extended warranty are provided by the manufacturer and in this case we request you to contact manufacturer for warranty issues.

You can contact the manufacturer "Samsung" by using the following: Website: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/ Telephone Number: 8,457,267,864

If you need any further clarifications please feel free to contact us : ****
Thank you for shopping at *******.

Did I solve your problem?

Warmest regards

Vignesh G.

I mean, what the hell

I think it is disgraceful that a company can get away with writing such poorly written nonsense back to their customers.

How is that laughable?

Grammatically it is terrible:

"From your email, I can understand your concern regarding the item you have received states that the warranty as 2 years where in our website we have listed as 3 years warranty."

^ LOL

It is hugely unhelpful.

He sort of contradicts himself as he firstly admits that it is listed as having a 3 year warranty on the website and then says:

"I would like to inform you that, all electronic items purchased from Amazon.co.uk come with a one year warranty from the manufacturer, unless otherwise stated."

Right shoring :)

They'd save more if they just redirected all emails to null - the quality of support wouldn't go down noticeably :)

Never mind :(

?

He said you get a one year warranty from the manufacturer.

The warranty card I got with the monitor states that it has a warranty of two years form the original date of purchase.

The website states it has a 3 year manufacturer warranty.

Edit - ninja edit :o :p

Tbh from reading it the only important piece of info I would want is the contact number for Samsung, which he's given you. Its a manufacturer's warranty, confirm the duration with them and take the appropriate action.

Ok so its not the best written reply, I don't think its soo bad I would post it on t'internet.

But every piece of documentation I received with it says it has a 2 year warranty.

I read that as you get three years, one from them and then the following two from the manufacturer?
Whats so hard about that?

(I don't think that's how warranties work!)

I read that reply as 'reiterate what the customer has said in a different order and fob off.'

And 'did I solve your problem?' really means 'We both know I didn't answer your query but it shows up on my stats that I responded, and if you persist, I will only find more ways of obfuscating the issue.'

Have you spoken to Samsung? Ultimately this is where it will make a difference. If they say its 2years take this up with the retailer. Your time is better spent doing this than posting in this thread surely

As I have already said, every bit of Samsung documentation that came with the monitor says it has a 2 year warranty, so what good is phoning them going to do

Anyway, as stated in the op, this isnt about the warranty, It is about the rubbish reply I got.
