Phone number for steam?

I genuinely don't know how people manage to get their Steam accounts compromised, I truly don't.

Hi Memphis im wondering the same unless I had a keylogger or something on my system but he fact my email address was validated and I did not get any emails from steam to say my email had changed again,

I used the new BETA interface I wonder if there is a problem there???

I think it's more likely that you got a keylogger or are simply a bit confused and haven't actually gone through the email verification process vs Steam's verification process being broken and getting bypassed with ease.

The verification email looks like this:

In order to help maintain the security of your Steam account, please verify your email address by clicking the following link: http://www.steamcommunity.com/actions/ValidateEmailAddress?tokentokentokenrandomnumbersblablabla

Your email address will be used to assist you in changing your Steam account credentials or regaining access to your Steam account, should you ever need help with those things.

Thanks for helping us maintain the security of your account.

Already seen that but to contact support it asks me to log in which i cant, or if i click the one where i know my account name but not password it sends an email to verify, which i doint get as the email address has been changed

Its sending me round in circles and its very annoying

Click the Contact Support button located at the top left of any Steam Support page to create a Steam Support account which is separate from your Steam account. Do not attempt to enter your Steam account information for the Steam Support system, as it will not work.

It seems I didn't keep that particular email so I can't reset it!!! I sent emails to two different support email accounts and both emails bounced.

Why did you send emails?

You're meant to sent a ticket through their support system.

Well fi the email wasn't verified, it's possible someone was trying to hijack your account, and hence your password would stop working? Makes sense to me. It's worth giving it a shot now after so long, as long as you can prove the account it yours, go do it, I mean you have games you wuld like to play, so at least try, then verify it, and you are back in business?

On a slightly separate note, never answer the security question. I mean how hard is it for a friend (or anyone that adds your facebook/myspace etc etc) to find out your mothers maiden name or something similar? I have a set few answers I type into those that relate in no way to any of the choices, so only I know what the answer is.
