HAHA TFU on Panorama

The title is some thing like: 'Is computer gaming addictive'?

What other conclusion could they possibly come to? Something really boring like 'No it's not.'; the thing every TV viewer is watching it to hear? Hope they go easy on ya.

Come on, it's Panorama, not some gaming enthusiasts' programme.

Anyway, I wonder why they never make a programme along the lines of: 'Is watching TV addictive?'.

Yep, these guys are screwed. Can't wait to watch :p

Odd coincidence, its showing on my birthday...

Would watch it to see what they make it into but i very much doubt i can use BBC iPlayer in Finland. But yeah... the name says it all, i very much doubt they had any intention of going to i40 and not attempting to show the worst of it.

Sad truth is that nobody wants to watch group of lads just enjoying themselves in front of PC's.
They want to see stereotypically socially incapable overweight hermits with bad acne and 80's haircuts. Chances are if they cant portray you as recluses, they will show pics of you getting drunk and a few random shots of vandalism and a street fight outside a kebab house that happened 300 miles away.

The press have a very good way of turning something very normal in to something horrific to get views.. and if they don't get what they want when filming, they just make it up. They will probably end up tying in that scuffle in the internet bar the other month, the stabbing in France over CSS and the other stabbing in China (don't quote me that its China).. you will just be portrayed as the "building up to" event.

I hope for your sakes that they don't, but really cant see them capturing and portraying the casual/friendly gamer image.

Personally I wouldn't let the Panorama crew any where near anything I was doing. They are nothing but a bunch Daily Fail kowtowing scare mongers. Their standard of reportage is diabolical, don't let them fool you into thinking they'll put you in any kind of good light, they'll cut it to make you all look like a bunch of tools.

This....

when the programme airs you will all look like a bunch of low forehead geeks who all masturbate violently to pictures of seven of nine in your darkened bedrooms while screaming pwned head-shot at your monitors.

Of course its addictive, I mean you get a bunch of strangers meeting up in large rooms playing video games all day and night and even have the option to have food delivered to you.

Haha well done TFU, Goon and co. for getting on the TV.

I am slightly concerned that you bought them telling you that they were filming you guys with regards to showing casual gamers. That doesn't seem quite right to me, if anything, I-series is going to show the people who are a lot more hardcore than your average Joe.

I will be watching that show, you guys need to have subtle references to OcUK on your monitors/computers that people can see!

The way I see it,

If they were after creating the OMG look at the addicts TV show there were a hell of a lot more candidates for that "stereotype".

I would like to think we came accross as the social group...went played a few games, crates of fosters, playing football etc.

Unless they were going for the "even normal people can get addicted approach." Here is Gornall, before TFU he played football, had friends and a job. Now he is spending his bank holiday playing games with people he met "online" /cue the sombre music as I justify playing games....

:D

We really don't want that. Not the time Panorama has finished with them! If they are lucky, they will only be shown for a brief second. Of course, it is amazing what the intranet can do with 1 second of footage :p

Sorry i haven’t been able to reply just got back from an OCUK Holiday…. I was banned for not blanking out the F off a swear word. Annoying tho as the guy above my post was talking about rape and stuff..... shocking!

Anyways no matter how panorama makes me look, no doubt I’ve made myself look worse lol... Do i care.... not really.... will it destroy my life..... doubt it..... will my mates rip into me...... yes..... Will it be funny... Hell yeah I’m gona get ripped on so much by my mates and the football lads!

I've had a TV series done on me before, i had a film crew follow me round for 3 weeks and got paid for it. It was called cert-18 on BBC 2 was a 15 min show on interesting 18 year olds (I wait for the abuse). Anyways I’ve lost the tape so if any1 knows a way to find “Cert 18 – Tim Harris (Swansea) “ I’d be very grateful.

As for the i-series to me it isn’t the real hardcore aspect of gaming imo, if anything it puts the normal hardcore gamer to shame, the fact that people meet up shows its more of a hobby/social activity that your average super geek. At least the i-series guys have the balls to meet up rather than hide behind a headset in their bedroom…. which tbh is what the producer was getting at, he kept asking if I know of any “hardcore gamers” that would be willing to speak to them, which to me says that they aren’t portraying the i-series as the hardcore gamer.

The only thing I am worried about tho is they were filming out side the energy drink stand where there was music and people dancing…..If they cut from me to them then I will be extremely embarrassed….. Lets just say the average geek can not dance to save his life and this guy who they were filming looked like a spastic chicken having a fit… SHAME ON!

Am waiting on the "That was me" :D

They are gonna make you sound like 40 year old virgins, who shout "boom headshot" and suggest that you guys are pedophiles for going to an event designed for children.

They will argue that your brains are now jelly and unfit for normal society.
