Gluing metal to skin?

Get your ears scalpeled and then get real flesh tunnels quickly!

Nothing wrong with superglue..

Worked ok out on the battlefield as it was developed for skin and flesh.

You would just have to be careful removing it afterwards, if it didnt fall off of its own accord at some point throughout the night.

It was used to close wounds, i.e. a permanent fixture.

I do wonder whether or not you're just on here to troll everyone.

Im afraid you fail.

It was only meant to be temporary until they could take the injured soldier to a proper medical facility.

Do you really think they glued people back together and sent them on their way?!

LOL

My three choices would be superglue, very strong double sided tape, or those sticky foam radio controlled "servo tape".

It was used to stem heavy blood flow until soldiers were taken to hospital, yes. Of course a gaping wound isn't going to be fixed by glue.

But for minor wounds, superglue was a permanent fix until the body healed itself and then would wash of days later.

This chap is trying to find a way of attaching something to his ear temporarily, not close up a massive wound.

when my dad was on blood thinners after his stroke he carried around superglue just incase he cut himself to stop the bleeding because his blood wouldnt clot fast enough worked well.

Well, that settles it folks.

Even though to my knowledge the OP

- hasn't had a stroke
- is not on blood thinners
- does not plan to cut himself

he should still use superglue, because the situations are so comparable!

OP - just another idea to throw it out there. If you're happy not to take yourself too seriously, get some false ears and superglue the spikes to those.

this proper annoys me, its a party mate, there really needn't be this ridiculous amounts of effort going in, checking local stockists for some theatrical glue.

Jesus, you sound like a right laugh. A costume for any fancy dress party should consist of what you've got lying around your house or what you can get from the corner shop for less than a 5er, and even then ist a bit of a stretch.

What does it matter? Everyone is gonna be leathered with bits of their costumes snapped off and broken within 20 minutes anyway. Get a grip mate.

lol RobbieG i know its not comparable i was just commenting on it from a medical point as people were talking about superglue being used in combat situations.

i also think super glue would be fine to use for his constume, anything that doesnt pull of with ease the next day i imagine a soak in the bath would solve.

was it normal supper glue or was it the medical stuff?

Normal stuff is an irritant so the op would end up scratching his metal knob off.

I was thinking the same about yourself :o.

the sort of guy who goes to these lengths for a fancy dress costume is the sort of guy who knows every Monty Python sketch word for word and whips it out at every opportunity and thinks he's a funny guy for it.

Emo rage much? I want to stick two small spikes to my face NOT recreate a authentic KISS costume!!!!

Ridiculous amounts of effort. Really? I've not left my desk and already got loads of replies which required pretty much zero effort.

Just because you're a lazy ass doesn't mean everyone else has to be. We always have a laugh at our themed parties and enjoy making an effort.

Go away and address you're issues :p

Keep going mate, you're killing me lol.

You're rants are taking more effort than my costume PMSL

Isn't that a bit of a leap from just wanting to attach some metal plugs to his ears?
