I also keep everything. Still have old Atari 2600 games, DOS-based PC games, TXT based Commodore 64 games, etc.i buy, and keep all my games... i still have 100+ ps1 games (and some non-released rare ones too, perks of having someone work at sony when the PS1 was in development)
I have done this with GTA 4 twice and will be doing it a third time, as I want to play The Lost And Damned, The Ballad Of Gay Tony.
Really? I thought you had to own GTA4 then buy the add ons?You don't need the original to play those, they're standalone. (At least the disc based versions are.)

This. A few of the games on my shelf are games I've bought a 2nd time (Fallout 3, Oblivion and Bioshock come to mind), and I'll no doubt do it with games such as Mafia II which I sold this weekend after finishing it inside 2 days. It makes sense to me, might as well get some money back for the titles now while they're worth something, then pick them up dirt cheap in a few months time when there aren't many new releases out and I fancy playing them again.Yeah done it before.
Usually I buy games on release for full price, finish them, sell them on while they are still worth something.
Then later down the line when they've dropped to bargain basement prices i'll re-buy them if I enjoyed the game and wanted to replay it.

Had a strange visitor last night who had a craving for some console action. After browsing through my PS3 collection, she asked, "Don't you have anything else?" So I showed her the PS1 collection (so glad the PS3 was backward compatible!) and she ended up playing Tekken for hours.
Got bored the other night and hooked up the old Nintendo NES. After fiddling with the cartridge for a few minutes (darned NES contacts!) ended up playing Tetris. First time since 1990-ish, got 100 lines first go.![]()
Might take some fiddling, but I'm sure there are ways to get them running in compatibility mode. I found my copy of Duke Nukem and want to give it a go that way. I'll try to remember to post my efforts/results.Do DOS-based games still work on modern day PCs? I know there is DOSbox but does that handle absolutely everything?
