So i did it... I have an ST-3.

Very nice! Looks fantastic and can't even see any stone chips on the front bumper either :) Which reminds I need to find out about insurance as plan on getting one of these come my renewal. I have a feel it's going to be costly :(

Give it a few weeks/months then it'll be time to purchase a Dreamscience package for a wee bit more power ;) Enjoy :)

I'm pretty sure I drove past your house before as it looks familiar with a bright orange car sticking out of the drive.

Fantastic! :D

I just took delivery of my ST3 today! Will create my own thread next weekend and I have a chance to clean and wax it. Know how you feel, cant stop grinning! :D

Looks cracking and along with the blue best colour for the ST. Test drove one of these a couple of months ago, had a remap and scorpion cat back, sounded fantastic and just kept pulling. Was a pre facelift, looks like the interior has improved on the facelift. Enjoy.

Considering a pre-facelift one as a replacement for my ST170 at some point, love them! Never thought I'd like a car in orange before I saw one of these..

What is it with the people who bought these not having climate control fitted though?! Argh! I'd have a nightmare finding one with climate within budget (only one on PH in black that I've seen so far).

I'd say the interior is a massive step up. It's still not brilliant but it's certainly bareable on the facelifts, before they were terrible.

Lovely car OP - get it remapped!

It was the interior that actually put me right off it, just didn't feel special at all. I'll have to have a shot in a facelift now. Thing is a decent facelift is 10k + and that's taking me into good 350z territory.

Or Z4 but they are totally different types of cars. The facelift ST is certainly on par if not better with every other hatch on the market. It's not VW dull and boring yet well built - bit more flashy but no idea how well it holds up.

One of the best things about the car is the engine though - so easy to get much more power out of it. Coupled with the decent handling, the Focus actually being a decent starting platform and no wonder the ST is one of the best affordable hot hatches.

Oh yea I totally agree, without doubt I think its the best of the current crop of hot hatches, Germans do nothing for me, don't like the French and the new ctr is a joke.

The focus is a cracking machine, understated (well maybe not in orange) practical, reliable, handles well and responsive to mods. Thing is though, I don't need practicality yet so I think my next car will be something like a 350z but if there ever comes a time I need to be sensible the focus will be top of the list.

Have you ever been in a pre or post facelift ST? The facelift is worse.

Everything is the same except the clocks got tacky chrome bits, the centre console got a tacky CF look trim, buttons were made a horrible silver, the gear knob was changed for a horrible plastic item, the arm rest was moved into a useless place (although a sliding mechanism was introduced, it doesn't work very well) and the cup holders became useless.

Yes.

I drove a friends 56 plate back from Luton airport about 2 months ago which took about 1hour30mins, I also had an extended (45minute-1hour) test drive of a 09 plate about a year ago.

Obviously didn't really pay much attention to the cup holders or arm rest but I much prefer the dash on the facelift.

The dash board is the same!

The biggest change is the clocks - you get a slightly bigger display which just shows exactly the same information.
