Call of Duty: Black Ops

When buying Killstreaks do you think that every time you use one then next round you'll have to buy another one? Or just when changing between different killstreaks you buy them? Or once you've bought them you can just keep changing between all the ones you've bought without having to pay for them again?

I would imagine once bought you can swap between them at will.

I wondered how they pulled off all the extra content..apparently with 2.6x IW staff. It still seems to be lacking in overall presentation and none of the maps so far look appealing.

I think it looks great. Will deffo be buying it.
In the article in the sun yesterday it said your mini map now has grid numbers so it's easier to tell people where you are.

The killstreaks are not stackable. What this means is that you will not be able to use any of the killstreak rewards towards your next reward.

Shame That disappears to be honest.

Although i didn't think i would purchase this, the multiplayer is looking really excellent, and the modes where you bet money seem interesting. Can't wait to play gun game too so many memories of playing it on CSS

anybody seen the video that talks about the diving prone ?

Turns out that bloke flying across the screen on the first video wasnt a buggy animation - thats an actual move in the game.

It happens when pressing prone whilst sprinting and it causes you to dive forwards. Playtesters from the magazines / websites reckonned it didnt effect the game too much as you were unable to shoot while doing this. Its designed as a defensive manovre and for getting across alleyways etc.. while under fire.

The same video also confirms that shotguns in black ops are now pretty much useless. Only getting hit markers from as little as 6 feet away. As well as the move to primary weapons, i think shotguns have pretty much been relegated from black ops.

Tactical throwing knife and crossbow i can see annoying a lot of people however. yet to be convinced that these are a good idea to have in normal MP play.

Aww found out the wife pre-orderd me this.

Bless her, she must want to see less of me :o Or she wants it for herself ¬.¬ (she already "takes it in turns" with me on MW2)

Shame to see shot guns relegated i did enjoy them in MW2 they were a bit OP but i would have thought they could have balanced them rather than make them useless.

The cross bow has explosive arrows i think i saw? Its going to be like semtex without the sound.

Just wondered if anyone could answer this they say you can purchase the attachments to the guns does that mean if you earn $1000 you can buy the most expensive attachment even at a low level or does it require a level & then cash also?

From what i've read unlocks are through a combination of money and levelling up.
There's a good read about it here http://tech.uk.msn.com/gaming/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=154564073&ocid=today
One interesting point is this
If you level up and unlock a weapon which you don't want, you can convert it into CoD Points,
That's a good feature IMO. There are quite a few guns in MW2 that i've never used,or tried and didn't like,so being able to sell them to get weapons I will use is a great idea.

Really? getting 4 kills with hardline only to go pred-harrier-choppergunner and be at 25+ kills with only 4 of them coming from gun kills is terrible IMO.

When i play which mainly is hardcore only harriers don't get a lot to be honest as everyone has cold blooded pro.

Hell i had harriers and a pave low and got 1 kill from the air strike.

Maybe i just don't notice it as much.

But i suppose it could be far easier when people don't use Cold blooded.

However it does seem a bit low that the top kill streak is only 11? Or is that only whats been shown?

Cheers for the link biron_w

The killstreaks don't need to go any higher then 11, since MW2 only went higher with EMP and Nuke, which were pointless anyway IMO. EMP does have it's uses, but for the amount of kills it takes to get it there were much better alternatives for less kills.

On hardcore I go for air strike-harrier-stealth bomber just stick them where your team isnt and you usually get a hand full of kills with that little lot.

Im looking forward to this for the single player mostly. The multiplayer does look good if not a huge leap from MW2 by any stretch of the imagiantion but I'm sure I'll dabble with it to see how good it is :)
