Civilization V - Pre-order map packs

Anyhow, this derailment has become a failure of epic preportions as I believe people are saying nowerdays.

FAIL.

That post is full of FAIL of EPIC PROPORTIONS ;)

YES, I AM SHOUTING TO MAKE A POINT THAT YOU CANNOT SILENCE ME.

Anyway.... Civ V EQUALS WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN :)

GOOD NIGHT.

Neither your health nor you gaming prefrences are in question here. We're both healthy Civ fans... Excellent. But for god's sake man, express yourself in a manner becoming of your age. Referring to something as "win" or "fail" is moronic. If you use those in everyday life people are going to look at you like you're a little touched in the head... And quite rightly!

Yes and having:

Dwarf Fortress: Don't dig too deep!

Aurora: Epic 4X space strategy:

is so mature!

Looking forward to Civ 5, though.

Civ 5 = Win
Steamworks = fail
Pre order content = fail
Exclusive Civ (babylon) for Steam special edition = fail
No boxed collectors edition release in the UK = fail

Agree with most of this, but I love steamworks...
That aside I agree.

Ssssssssqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!!!!

Ordered :)

It wasnt available for pre order before when everywhere else already had it.

Ok, thanks for the replies people. I agree that zero-day DLC is a terrible idea, under normal circumstances I would never support it.. however... this is Civ5 and I will pay handsomely to enjoy this game to the full.

Think I will just plump for the collectors edition, it has more game models to litter my desk with :p

I preordered ages ago, just because I'm a lazy so and so, I certainly didn't do it for the map, even if I knew it was on offer, which I didn't. The only maps I want are a nicely done (and large ;)) Earth and my own randomly generated ones, which allow a sense of discovery.

The idea of CIV's being DLC is news to me though and a hell of lot more more disturbing. If it works then what for CIV 6?

Gimpymoo: Hah, got me. I'll put my hands up to those typos. I'm not saying I'm perfect. I just don't understand the Fail/Win thing,

Simpletom: What's wrong with my sig? Both games are one-man developments and I'm just showing my support by giving them some exposure.

Back on topic, I'm really looking foward to seeing some real-world maps made in Civ 5's new hex grid. For me it's the biggest step forward for the franchise. It'll make the strategy side much richer... and harder.

Most of the CEs I ave are bought after they get reduced to crazy prices (AOE3 CE for £26, lolwut AWESOME!).

I missed the newest Anno one though as I hadnt heard of it until too late.

Civ, Elder Scrolls, and Guild Wars I buy boxed CE's on launch. Never had a Civ CE before though, so I must have this. £50 is worth it for a Civ game.

Exclusive Civ for Steam special edition.

Soon after release there will be a DLC with two more bonus Civs.

Speculation - Earth map not shipping with the game, there will be an earth maps + scenarios compilation pack for £5.

Ok, I might have gone a bit OTT but I just can't understand it. That and referring to a gaming character as a "Toon". What the hell is that about?

Anyhow, this derailment has become a failure of epic preportions as I believe people are saying nowerdays.

yea i never got the toon thing either...

toons are the characters inside a cartoon? games arent cartoons.

its probably an american thing from mmo's...... they will always be characters to anyone whos been gaming for more than a few years
