Hey guys,

as the title suggests I would like recommendations on the make/model of what SSD's would be adviseable to purchase and also how big?

I'l be installing windows on the SSD and a few games and applications such as adobe photoshop but i would also like extra room for new game realeses and also for applications I have not yet considered (as I will be starting a Computer Science course).

Any help would be gratefully recieved :)

Thanks again guys

Mehmet

128GB I would recommend. Recently got a Crucial C300 64GB which whilst very fast and snappy its is quite small and fills fast with a few games. If I had the cash id of gone for the 128GB model.

Yeah i have the crucial C300 64GB..really wished id had gone for the 128gb...mass effect 2 is 11gb alone lol plus with FSX on it i only have 24gb left..might buy another one. :D. but yeah its very fast.

mass effect is 11GB? jesus shows how much out of touch I am with current games lol... last big game i use to play was wow which took up about the same but was a number of years ago. Before that Dawn of war which took up 2-4gb.. times really do change quickly.

Thanks again for the replies :)

GTA 4 is 15 gigs. That alone wouldn't be so bad... but you want to install the "expansion"? That's another 15gb. 30 damn gigs for one game.

I went for a slower SSD, but it offers a better £/gb ratio than most of them.

It can be found cheaper than this, I got mine on "this week only" for £140. It's not the newest model, but is free from all the problems the early SSD's had.

If 64gb isn't enough and you can't afford the £200+ 128gb drives, this drive is a great alternative.

Thanks for the reply.

That drive seems like a very good alternative but thankfully money isnt too much of an issue as my system build comes underbudget with orginally a 60gb SSD and with a 128gb SSD still comes under budget by about £50-£100.

if you wait a few weeks prices will come down, but prices as they are will rarely come down more than a few quid a week.

if you want speed try ocz, but they are expensive
