Not to mention, a run that's £10 cheaper may well equate to spending an extra £10-£15 in fuel to get there.

But then there are some of us who are spending the extra £10 and £70 for fuel to go to Powerstation. ;)

I love playing Devils Advocate. :D

Actually, if this goes ahead in the Surrey area I have some acquaintances who I can "tap up" to see if they're interested. The cars that turned up at the last Surrey RR I went to include, but are not limited to:

TVR Tuscan S
Ferrari 348TS
Porsche 996 Turbo S (modified)
Ultima Spider

I don't see what the problem is with Powerstation.

So the run is more expensive than other places... but you have to ask yourself... what are they skimping on if the costs are lower? Maintainance? Equipment?

We all know the PS rollers pretty well and can usually tell if they're reading incorrectly. Not to mention, a run that's £10 cheaper may well equate to spending an extra £10-£15 in fuel to get there. Oh but wait, we get free pizza... wow, I'm sold.

So you are completely biased towards powerstation and abusing others like Eurospec of being more like cowboys because they are cheaper and you might have to travel further. Give this man a gold medal

There are loads of members in the London vacinity and it is quite a viable alternative plus LSPIII has already mentioned some other guys that could be persuaded to come along.

No need to start discrediting others with wild and illogical accusations, come on now!

Location is the key issue here. And perhaps continuity. Easiest way is to put it to a poll and see what comes out on top.

Even so, two can still be run, and people can even go to both.

So are there any further contenders aside from:

Powerstation
Eurospec
Owen Developments

?

Oh yeah, I forget how many times I've set off from Manchester at 6am to get down to Powerstation for a rolling road meet. I see it's mostly the south eastern members who want the RR to be moved to Eurospec.

I wonder why ;)

And of course I'm biased towards Powerstation. Both times my car has been on the rollers it's been there. Why would I want to take it to another RR and not have anything to base the figures on.

Not to mention, the distance is pretty much equal to Powerstation from both London and Preston (where I live) so why should the Northern members be made to have to travel further whereas the Southern members get an easy ride. Another reason why I prefer Powerstation being that it's fairly central for the majority of members.

Just to poke this argument with a stick (because I can)...

Why do we HAVE to make everybody drive miles out of their way, seeing as Powerstation is convenient for about... 2 people...

On a separate note, I can totally understand and sympathise with those who wish to run on the same rollers as they have before. Hence why I think Powerstation may end up as the Poll winner here. And that's fair enough.

I've done bickering :) I've said what I wanted to say.

If we have it at Eurospec I may well still come along. I'm not going to say "oh no, I have to drive an extra 100 miles therefore I'm not going". I enjoy the company more than anything else.

If I want to run my car at PS in future, I can always stay at cymatty's for the weekend and pop over so it's no skin off my nose where we go.

LSP summed it up, why does everyone have to drive miles to get to PS and pay more fuel and more for the privelage of running there.

Anyhow it's probably about the same distance to both for me, it just seems there are plenty of members closer Surrey way and there are the odd few members up North. I can see the point of having it more central but it just seem slike everyone will be racking up far more miles, paying more to run and most importantly getting no freaking pizza!!!! :D

I personally would prefer it cost me more in petrol and see more/regular people then have it right down in the south to meet aload of selfish people who wont drive no more than 10miles for a meet. ;)

And who employed the same tactic when the last one was organsised soo close to the OP and a few others :p

No offence mate, but as much as I enjoy the social aspect, I think driving a 6hr 350 mile return trip in a car that can do as little as 7-8mpg, requires servicing every 4500 miles, and which would cost me over £100 fuel for a RR session which I recently got for free - as a bit much.

If that makes me selfish then so be it.

Thought the Powerstation guys were great last time, certainly heard no complaints on the day. A change of RR would be good though, just so it's some thing different.

Nobody is forcing you to go?

So what do we have then?

Powerstation (Tewksbury)
Eurospec (Guildford)
Owen Developments (Oxford)
Surrey Rolling Road (Surrey..duh)
No preference (Anywhere)

I'll RTM this post and get it turned into a Poll.
