spent 6 years on everquest, been working and not gaming for the last year now..

I want somethign to play that is not a time sink,

I liked CIV and max payne, FPS or turn based

any suggestions on good FPS or maybe some strat / turn based games?

I agree with Teamfortress 2. It's a great game that you can just pick up play when ever. Love the fact it takes on a more comedy approach to the FPS genre.

You could try Global Agenda, kind of an mmo shooter, but you can take it in very bite-sized chunks.

I'm playing starcraft 2 at the moment, the games (I play 3v3) usually last 20 minutes, and there isnt any need to play continuously as everyone uses the automatch feature.
