"Screaming children will not be tolerated!"

There is no discipline these days, same as when I was in school, did something wrong you got the dap, kids know they can get away with anything these days grrrrr.

The fear factor has flipped, now the teachers are scared of the kids, and all those kids that are just way ''too cool for school'' get away with murder.

Well they did in my school anyway,I guess it's the same in most up and down the country. For kids in restaurants, they only really bother me is they starting bumping into me and stuff like that. Otherwise i just zone out, or focus in on the person I'm talking to ^_^.

That's not what double posting means....

To all the arguments of "Kids will be kids and they can be hard to control". Bulls will be bulls, but people know this and don't take them into china-shops.

People don't think twice about leaving a dog outside a shop. Why are dogs left outside a shop? Dogs will be dogs, they should be allow in shops to disrupt everyone else and cause damage to the property, going by the "Kids will be kids" logic at least.

Speaking as a parent I have absolutely no problem with the restaurant have such a policy. The last thing you want is a screaming kid when you are out having a meal. Also as a private business they have the right to decide who they want to serve. I would also have no issue if they had a blanket "No kids" rule, entirely up to them and would possibly be a place I would choose to go when we had a sitter. :)

Well, to every kid, Mcdonalds is the yummiest nicest food ever made, and it comes with toys! :p

Also, their parents can always cook them a nice meal, or just order a takeaway and let them eat them at home.

Nope. I will continue to take my daughter out for meals. Obviously we tend to choose kid friendly places, but she is well behaved and I would have no issue with taking her to a more upmarket place. If you want to eat with no children whatsoever, then find places that have "no kids" rules, otherwise you are just going to have to accept that some parents are not going to lock their kids away just so you can have a peaceful meal. :)

TBH though, well behaved kids, and parents that do anything about a disruptive kids behavior are getting increasingly rarer nowadays.

Alternatively, much like well behaved kids in supermarkets, you just don't notice the good ones and only notice the bad ones.

This is an interesting thread looks like there are a lot of kiddie bashers in here but when it comes to throwing puppies in the river.................................

Meh. Puppies are better than kids.

As someone already said, with dogs you simply leave them chained outside. Can we do that with loud bratty kids too? :p

Wanting crying babies to be far far away from me is nowhere near as evil as throwing puppies into a river.

unless they're actually drowning the child for being noisy in a restaurant hows it comparable?

I fully agree that screaming children is annoying and not acceptable.

However, why draw the line at children? There are plenty of adults who have no manners and use foul language at a family restaurant.
They should be told to leave as well.

That's quite a good idea to be honest. Nothing more annoying than kids screaming and parents ignoring it. Introduce it to most restaurants I say!
