Do Audi still produce petrol engines?

Can I join your petrol club please? It's only 6 cylinders and 2 litres, but it is pre-cat and ridiculously inefficient.

That sounds acceptable to me. Im guessing they wouldnt allow it to be built and sold on a new car today then due to emmisions regs?

I can feel the ice caps melting around us

Amen! I used to hammer my old 1.9 berlingo down the backroads near me, It actualy reminded me of my old saxo vtr... well the bit where you can drive everywhere absolutely flat out and still not break any laws lol

I now have a 1.6hdi Expert (about 80bhp in a transit sized van) loaded with heavy stuff and is monumentaly slow but those 225 tires give some serious grip!!

Work vans for the win!!

1.4TDCi Fiesta Van for the win :o

Simple answer to a simple question, it's cause T is > than F to the average Audi purchaser. 2.0 FSi or 2.0 TDi? I know which one I'd pick.

The problem is with their larger engines for me (2.0TDI vs 2.0TFSI petrol wins all day long). I'm considering a A6 as my next car but the choice may come down to the 3.0TDI or the 3.2 V6, it's REALLY hard to ignore the diesel as it's such a good engine and 90% of the time it will be the right choice as you don't cane it everywhere. Although even then the A6 is hardly agile and sporty so is it worth the extra cost? :o

(Yes I know they now do a 3.0TFSI but that's only been released recently so out of my price range, would pick that in a heartbeat though if I could).

What are the servicing costs of the 3.0TDi vs the 3.2 V6? Obviously I kow the tax and consumption of them both but don't know the servicing prices.

Plenty of nice petrol Audis over here. Can't remember the last time the tedious hum of a 4 cylinder diesel engine polluted the air :D

I've got a 58 plate a6 avant 3.0tdi quattro and the first service was £380 at 18500 miles which I thought was pretty much the going rate for any marque. If next interval manages that I'd be happy, and I'm still on my original tyres which is awesome given their cost.

My 0.02 is that you'd be utterly mad buying a non-s/rs in anything other than tdi, especially if you can afford the 3.0 v6 which is a peach of an engine and suits the car and auto box very well. Can't understand why anyone would consider a petrol engine in a car like this.
