STEAM Star Wars Daily Deal - Knights of the old Republic - £1.75!!!!

Not offically but there is a 3rd party tool out there called UniWS which patches the game EXE and works for some folks. I could never get it running but many report success using this method. If that does work for you there is also yet another fix to correct the HUD for the new resolution and available for your 1900 x 1080 res.
 
Was mentioned to me by a colleague that it is unlikely to run on W7 which is why he hadn't upgraded yet lol.

Conflicting reports in here as well. Have you tried running it in compatibility mode?

I think the 2nd one was a bit of a let down in terms of story, but i liked the fact you could train a apprentice.

Not sure how to play it through though the light side or dark side :P see how i feel when i start playing it again :)

Save it when you get to the choice, any decisions you make before that dont really matter, thats what i did, then i only had to play the last third through again as dark side to see both endings.

This does not work on steam unless you use a hacked .exe file, which could have issues with steam....
 
Absolutely must have game. Even if you arent a fan of star wars it doesnt matter (its set in a different time period so it doesnt matter if C3PO ****ed you off). Great branching story with a choice of being good or evil (well not really evil, your just a bit of a tw@ to people). Tons of interaction, varied worlds to explore, some good twists, great characters - even if the game mechanics are fairly basic (not quite turned based although you can pause it in battle when you want, just queue up your attacks and see them fly). Love this game and even the sequal (anyone heard anything about the big overhaul mod people were making for the second to reinput all the missing content?)

I tried that but it does not show the widescreen res in game or in the config tool... Any more info on what you changed...

Bought and downloaded, graphic isn't too bad if you apply the widescreen fix (below) and turn on anti-aliasing and anisotrophic filtering (for anti-aliasing I had to modify the swkotor.ini file and change it manually because it didn't think a 5850 was capable in the in-game settings LOL):

Are steam not a bit funny about using dodgy .exe files...??
 
Did that, it loads up yet my mouse doesn't work in the menu's, nor does my keyboard.

Bored of this game already.

Yeah, because it's my problem it wont work.

Warning people that if you have windows 7 there's no promise it will even load up and let you get past the menu.
 
all i did was put this in the config file in the main directory, swkotor.ini or configuration file etc.
so it looked liek this:

[Graphics Options]
RefreshRate=60
Height=1050
Width=1680

my game seems to run fine from what i played last night, i will try it again shortly to see if it is in the correct res.
