Machines that sound awesome!

Such a shame they retired the hovercraft, it as epic. Loved my ride on that, although it was just as noisy inside...

Yep we used to use them each year when going on holiday to Europe. They were noisy and not very smooth but awesome machines. One year two engines failed and we had to get back sideways

Those hovercraft's are immense, we took one back from France in '99 when we picked up my dads car from Germany, was hilarious in the garage as every single car alarm was going off :D

I just love this for some reason. Planes etc yo0u just have to be there really, doesn't really capture on video.

Fail - it's not even a Valenta.

Yes it is! The clue is in the title of the video.
The high pitched sound is the Valenta turbocharger and the lower pitched sound is the Marston cooler fan revving up :) Man I loved those trains before the TOCs started putting MTU engines in them :(

Anything with a nitromethane burning V8 usually makes the hairs stand up on my back. Old V8's running big power, especially. Here's the Winged Express fuel altered at Pomona:

Shame the quality isn't a bit better in this one:

Always awesome.
I was at Kemble a month back when it did an impromptu display - apparently a training sorte.
Amazing to see and hear, and the way virtually everyone stopped and went silent. I cannot think of any modern aircraft that provokes quite that type of response.
