E-Shot Feed back

I got mine about 7:00am this morning according to gmail.

Haven't bought anything yet as I'm currently not looking and not in the money situation to do so.

However, I have commented to a fellow forumer on the quality of deals this week. I liked the look of the e-Shot too! Nice and simple and easy to read.

If I was looking to buy equipment at the moment, this would certainly draw me in.

Looks like several separate designs stitched together. Would look better if you'd done it in illustrator or Photoshop and used 1 common background.

The in-depth sections are good, but the smaller banner-like ads are a bit random. Almost like they don't need to be there.

I like the bottom half of it, big picture without over-imposing titles. The top half does look busy as some have said.

Recieved at 5 past midnight for me :)

I generally tend to view the E-Shot on my phone and having the whole link like one big link panel can be a bit annoying when I want to zoom in and out etc with the touch screen. A clearer 'buy now' button would be much neater and also include the price. Keeping that design the same will allow people to find the most relevant info right away. I tend to look at what the prices are before I look at the item itself (odd I know).

I think the paneled design has potential but it's not very uniform. Love the products standing out and overlapping the design elements but the banners seem to be thrown in rather than integrated. The banners should be the artistic license area to make things stand out and the regualr panels should have the same fonts, pricing, buttons and colours to make it look a little less jumbled.

Still, not a bad effort for a late rush into the night and I certainly noticed and liked the new look over the old one when I read the email this morning.

My thoughts:
- Too busy - deals lose focus amongst unneccessery text
- Too long
- Lack of consistency in titling the products
- Picture of OCZ blade then no matching products (?)
- GeForce (towards the bottom) - why is the price going up diagnolly on this but no other item? - also 3 stars for the warranty here but not at the top

Not sure if the grey really works, I think it makes the whole thing seem a little desaturated and washed out, but then that's just me :)

I know I am going to get flak on these boards because of this but here goes anyway :)

The female models for the monitors make it look a bit cheap.

It's definitely.. busy. I think whoever gave you the copy/spec for that should be e-shot.

That's way too much information for 1 newsletter. I don't really want to comment harshly on the design as it's your first one and you've obviously had to squeeze too much in.

Less info would give a cleaner, more appealing and easy to read newsletter. Sign-up for Apples newsletters/product updates and borrow ideas. They have the best marketing.

Totally agree, the scantily clad birds while nice to look at do smack of back street garage more than cutting edge IT store. The whole flyer is a bit in your face for me but then maybe I'm not the target audience.

My thoughts...

Top menu buttons for 'systems & bundles' etc looks horrible. Doesn't fit next to the blue of the WD banner.

Grey colour doesn't work at all.

Change how items are laid out, put them into better categories. e.g.

Pre built systems & laptops together
bundles underneath
usual components - cpu, motherboard, ram, graphics, hard drives, optical, PSU, cases
then peripherals all together - mice, keyboards, monitors, networking

It does look good, just seems very cluttered and a mash of colours with a big splodge of grey over the top.
